<span></span><p><span><strong>Organizational Setting</strong></span></p><br><p><span>FAO's office for Yemen is responsible for developing, promoting, overseeing and implementing agreed strategies for addressing countrywide food, agriculture and rural development priorities under Yemen. It develops and maintains relations with the relevant Ministries at country level. This position is based in FAO Representation in Sanaa, Yemen. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.</span></p><br><p><br><span><strong>Reporting Lines</strong></span></p><br><p><span>The incumbent reports to the Head of Livestock Sector and will work in close collaboration with project managers/CTAs, technical and operation teams in the country.</span></p><br><p><br><span><strong>Technical Focus</strong></span></p><br><p><span>Plan and support the implementation of animal diseases surveillance systems in Yemen, livestock Vaccination and treatment Campaign, Pre and Post vaccination Evaluation.</span></p><br><p><br><span><strong>Tasks and responsibilities</strong></span></p><br><p><span><i>Surveillance and vaccination campaign</i></span><br><span>• Assist the preparation and implementation of disease surveillance systems, vaccination campaign, the Pre and Post Vaccination Evaluation (PVE).</span><br><span>• Assist in providing technical support to the General Directorate of Animal Health and Veterinary Quarantine (GDAHVQ) in laboratory analysis of the serum samples collected and report writing.</span><br><span>• Follow up with the GDAHVQ and agriculture offices on the technical and financial report and prepare the payments for the LoAs.</span></p><br><p><span><i>Capacity building to GDAHVQ</i></span></p><br><p><span>• Assist in the preparation and facilitation of a 5-days training course on animal disease diagnostics, lab quality assurance and surveillance system for 10 lab technicians from the Central Veterinary Laboratory (CVL) (one in CVL-Sana'a and one in CVL- Aden)</span><br><span>• Assist in the preparation and facilitation of a 4-days training course on transboundary animal diseases (TADs) Surveillance, Control and Outbreak investigation for 30 surveillance officers from the centre and governorates (one in Sana'a and one in Aden)</span><br><span>• Assist in supporting planning and implementation of capacity building of the veterinary extension staff at GDAHVQ on TADs surveillance.</span></p><br><p><span><i>Animal Health Strategy</i></span></p><br><p><span>• Support the planning, coordination and organization of meetings with GDAHVQ, stakeholders from the private sector, representatives of Veterinary Statutory Body (VSB), laboratories, veterinary education establishments, etc.</span><br><span>• Assist in collecting and reviewing the available data related to <section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p><br></p><p>Overall purpose of the role: The Economic Recovery Coordinator provides overall technical leadership, and coordination to DRC s economic recovery programming in Yemen, including food security, decent livelihoods, and financial inclusion, with cross-cutting technical support on CVA, market system development and climate-sensitive natural resource management. The Economic Recovery Coordinator has the overall responsibility for designing, coordinating, supporting, and representing DRC's Economic Recovery program in Yemen in external coordination mechanisms (as well as a member of the Cash Consortium for Yemen) and for providing technical guidance and strategic directions to DRC teams operating across the country.</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p><p>Technical Oversight</p><ul><li>Develop economic recovery program strategy and priorities based on thorough understanding of needs and context, aligned with DRC s mandate and regional/global strategies.
