Participates in development of project fabrication execution plan to meet contract requirements most productively. Develops a work pack index and sets priorities and ROS dates for deliverables. Prepare project specific task listing. At commencement of the project participate in fabrication kick-off meeting. Forecast fabrication requirements (deliverable inputs) to meet the project contract schedule. Coordinates with MTO, warehouse, drafting teams to issue work packs. Review and understand manhour estimate. Ensure estimates are correct. Provide feedback to the estimation department where required. Issues work packs and follows up all activities for work pack execution. Carries out progress reporting on the project. Reviews weekly fabrication progress reports for progress and productivity. Acts on anomalies. Responsible for documenting all scopes of work changes (change orders) and coordinating AFC estimate updates. Reviews input deliverable forecast dates (material & drawings) and advises impact to fabrication schedule. Appraises Senior Production Engineer or Fabrication Operations Engineer of any project issues which affect the forecasted progress, productivity, and schedule commitments. Prepare technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the client. Provides field guidance to meet project specifications, schedule, and targets. Participates and provides feedback on regular sites and look ahead meetings. Coordinates with subcontractors for completion of work. Raises variance orders to capture extra works not part of AFC estimates. Identify items requiring support from the construction engineering team. Coordinates and follows up to get required input. 1. JOB PURPOSEThe Comp Ex Certified E&I QC Inspector shall be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) works in hazardous areas as per Comp Ex standards. The role involves inspection, testing, verification, and documentation of E&I installations to ensure adherence to project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.<br><br>2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform quality control inspections on all Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) installations in hazardous areas as per Comp Ex certification requirements. Verify compliance of E&I equipment, cabling, glanding, and terminations with IECEx/ATEX standards and project specifications. Conduct inspections of explosion-proof equipment, intrinsically safe circuits, and pressurized enclosures. Review and approve method statements, ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), and quality documentation prior to execution. Perform visual inspections, dimensional checks, and functional testing of E&I systems and components. Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors, and project management to resolve quality-related issues. Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, and as-built documentation. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEComp Ex Certification (Competency in Explosive Atmospheres) – Mandatory. Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience as an E&I QC Inspector in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects. Proven experience in hazardous area inspections and compliance with IECEx/ATEX standards. Knowledge of international codes and standards: IEC 60079, NEC 500/505, API, ASME. Valid offshore medical certificate and BOSIET / HUET certification (preferred). He will act mainly at the Subcontractor's interface, leading him to perform his scope of work on budget, schedule and with the required quality and compliance of HSE standards. Steel Structure Superintendent maintains a proper interface with the rest of Disciplines, not only with the Construction ones but also with Engineering and Procurement to solve any matter affecting Steel Structure works at Site. The Steel Structure Superintendent shall keep always updated the weekly plan against the overall Project schedule with full knowledge about the current Workfront. Assist the Planning and Production Control Departments to update the current Steel Structure plan or to develop a new forecast plan revision. Check that the Steel Structure Supervisors are aware about the Subcontractor scope of work and that the daily targets are fixed according with Project schedule. Ensure that the daily production is evaluated by every Steel Structure Supervisor and it is daily loaded in the system. Demand the corresponding clarifications to the Supervisors to avoid discrepancies with Planning Department and ensure the reliability and readiness of the progress declared by the Subcontractor. Evaluate the Steel Structure Supervisor performance, enhancing their skills and abilities. Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks. Dismiss Steel Structure Supervisors who fail to meet expectations under justified arguments. Check with Steel Structure Supervisors that the adequate Subcontractor manpower is available for each task and the labour force allocated on the job is productively used. Steel Structure Supervisors will know the Steel Structure corporate tools and procedures, and he will use and apply them in the daily work. Report the manpower deployed at Site in a daily basis. Check in advance with Subcontractor that required tools and worksite access (scaffolding, roads, etc.) are available to perform the planned daily activities. Manage the material dispatched to the Subcontractor and ensure its efficient use. Identify proper methods of material handling and preservation to prevent damages or deterioration. Minimize as much as possible the site storages period. Provide on-site coordination with Subcontractor, walk daily all work areas to monitor activities. Validate the FEWOs and contribute with the corresponding information to issue the reliable evidences. If applicable, verify and follow up the compliance and filling of the Work Time Sheets by the Steel Structure Supervisors, demanding full accuracy over the hours required to perform the activity. If applicable, validate and follow up the required Vendor assistance man-hours to minimize them for the contractual ones. In no case, the Vendor technician will cover the function and responsibilities of Supervisors because of their negligence or lack of skill/knowledge.
