Also Foodics has achieved three rounds of funding, with the latest raising $170 million in the largest SaaS funding round in MENA, boosting its innovation capabilities to better serve business owners.

The Job in a Nutshell

We're hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead significant improvements across the reliability, operability, and delivery of our platform. You'll work across the full lifecycle - from understanding where our engineering teams are feeling friction today, through designing pragmatic infrastructure and deployment improvements, to shipping them safely and supporting them in production.

You'll be working on a containerised platform running in Kubernetes, with Google Cloud-hosted services, Cloud SQL-backed applications, Redis, RabbitMQ, and a CI/CD flow built around Docker, Jenkins, and our deployment tooling. The challenges are real, the autonomy is high, and the team is small enough that your decisions matter.

What Will You Do

Own and improve the reliability, scalability, and day-to-day operability of our production platform.

Design and evolve deployment workflows that make shipping safer, faster, and morepredictable for engineering teams.

Improve our Kubernetes workloads and surrounding runtime concerns - configuration, secrets handling, resource usage, resilience, and environment consistency.

Raise the bar for observability: make failures easier to detect, debug, and learn from through pragmatic monitoring, alerting, and instrumentation.

Partner closely with application engineers to improve developer experience, reduce toil, and remove infrastructure bottlenecks that slow delivery down.

Operate with autonomy: identify operational risks, propose sensible improvements, and follow through without needing to be managed.

What Are We Looking For

Kubernetes depth: Comfortable operating production Kubernetes environments and improving how services are deployed, configured, and run day-to-day.

Cloud platform experience: Strong hands-on experience with a major cloud provider - ideally GCP - including networking, IAM, managed services, and the trade-offs between building and buying.

CI/CD and release engineering: You've built or significantly improved delivery pipelines and understand how to balance speed with safety, traceability, and roll back confidence.

Containers and Linux fundamentals: Comfortable debugging containerised workloads, understanding what is happening at the process/network/filesystem level, and getting to root cause without guesswork.

Observability and incident handling: You know what good operational visibility looks like and can improve logging, metrics, alerting, and incident response in practical ways.

Automation instinct: Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar) with the instinct to remove repetitive manual work rather than normalise it.

Security and secrets awareness: You take a thoughtful approach to access, credentials, service boundaries, and production change risk.

Engineering partnership: Can work well with software engineers and technical leaders to refine operational needs, push back constructively, and improve the platform without becoming a ticket firewall.

AI-assisted development: You use modern AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) to accelerate investigation, automation, and delivery - and you have a healthy scepticism of its output. You don't automate your judgment away.

Communication and judgment: Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to explain trade-offs clearly to both engineers and non-engineers.

Who Will Excel

Experience supporting PHP/Symfony application estates or similar service-oriented web platforms.

Experience with Cloud SQL / MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar managed data and messaging components.

Background working across a mixed estate of legacy and modern services, where incremental improvement matters more than greenfield purity.

Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform or similar).

Cost optimisation, capacity planning, or performance tuning experience in a production cloud environment.

Experience improving internal developer platforms, golden paths, or self-service tooling for engineering teams.

What We Offer You

Curated career progression planning with formal yearly reviews and informal check-ins along the way.

Encouragement to grow into a Feature Development Lead.

A competitive salary.

Ample time to learn new concepts - including paid development and business-related conferences.

Fully remote working, no commuting expenses.

Flexible work hours. We'll need you around for a 10am stand-up; otherwise you work as and when it suits you.

25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), with an additional day per year of service.

Regular all-company socials and quarterly team socials.

A team that genuinely likes learning and shipping together.

Using frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, you will test the resilience of our security controls and incident response capabilities.

Additionally, you will conduct penetration testing on web applications, mobile apps, APIs, and networks, using scripting, defense evasion techniques, and code review to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.

Your role might include all the following:

Red Teaming and Penetration Testing
Lead red team engagements to emulate the TTPs of advanced adversaries, using frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and Caldera to simulate real-world attack scenarios.
Design and execute complex attack chains, including initial access, privilege escalation, lateral movement, data exfiltration, and persistence, to test the effectiveness of security controls.
Simulate sophisticated threats such as nation-state actors, ransomware groups, and insider threats to identify gaps in detection and response processes.
Conduct penetration testing across web applications, networks, cloud environments, and internal systems to identify vulnerabilities and validate red team findings.
Test for vulnerabilities in web applications (e.g., SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, IDOR, OWASP Top 10), mobile apps (iOS and Android), and APIs (REST, GraphQL, SOAP).
Use tools like Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Frida, and MobSF to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in diverse attack surfaces.

Web Application Security
Conduct in-depth penetration testing of web applications to identify vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF), insecure direct object references (IDOR), and other OWASP Top 10 issues.
Test for business logic flaws, session management issues, and authentication/authorization vulnerabilities in web applications.
Use tools like Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and manual techniques to identify and exploit web application vulnerabilities.

Scripting and Automation
Write and maintain custom scripts (e.g., in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript) to automate attack techniques, payloads, and reconnaissance processes for web, mobile, and API testing.
Build tools to streamline pentesting workflows, such as automated vulnerability scanning, exploitation, and post-exploitation activities.
Create scripts to bypass web application firewalls (WAFs), evade detection, and test the resilience of blue team defenses.

Defense Evasion Techniques
Research and implement advanced defense evasion techniques to bypass endpoint detection and response (EDR), antivirus, WAFs, and other security solutions.
Develop obfuscation methods for payloads and exploits to avoid detection by SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other monitoring tools.
Stay updated on the latest evasion techniques and adapt strategies to simulate sophisticated adversaries targeting web applications and other systems.

Code Review & Secure Development
Perform thorough code reviews to identify vulnerabilities in web applications, APIs, and mobile apps, focusing on languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, or C#.
Identify insecure coding practices, such as improper input validation, lack of output encoding, and insecure API integrations.
Collaborate with development teams to provide actionable recommendations for secure coding practices and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

Mobile and API Security
Perform penetration testing on mobile applications (iOS and Android) to identify vulnerabilities such as insecure storage, improper session handling, and weak authentication mechanisms.
Assess API security (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) for issues like broken authentication, excessive data exposure, and lack of rate limiting.
Use tools like Burp Suite, Frida, and MobSF to analyze mobile and API attack surfaces and develop exploits for identified vulnerabilities.
