MdM in Yemen

Yemen remains one of the world s most severe humanitarian crises, after more than a decade of conflict, economic decline, climate shocks, and political instability. In 2026, over two-thirds of the population require humanitarian assistance, including 9.4 million people identified as most in need of life-saving support.

The health system is under extreme strain, with only 59.3% of health facilities fully operational and 19.3 million people requiring healthcare services, including more than 660,000 pregnant women in need of urgent care. Cholera continues to pose a major public health challenge, adding pressure to an already weakened system.
