<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><br>Established in April 2019, the Humanitarian Hub in Marib City serves as a crucial center for aid operations in Yemen. It houses 9 UN agencies, providing office space and accommodation for UN personnel working in Marib, as well as short-term lodging for expatriate International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGO) staff when needed. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) maintains a substantial presence there, with 4 international and approximately 127 national staff members. They implement various activities, including health, WASH, shelter, and protection services for internally displaced persons and other vulnerable populations in Marib and nearby regions.<br>Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator (Liaison, Emergency & Recovery Programmes), the Hub Coordinator will be responsible for the management of the overall Humanitarian Hub in Marib.<br>Responsibilities<br>1. Support the coordination with partners and agencies regarding the day-to-day needs identification of the Humanitarian Hub.<br>2. Contribute to planning and provide practical recommendations to support the Hub s objectives.<br>3. Support the day-to-day operations of the Humanitarian Hub, ensuring facilities remain functional and well-maintained.<br>4. Coordinate the repair, maintenance, and installation of infrastructure, both conventional and temporary installations, with building contractor, procurement, and logistics; monitor contractor performance, checking adherence to agreed specifications and quality standards; and closely collaborate with logistics and procurement staff for the effective management of contracts.<br>5. Monitor cost recovery processes, closely collaborating with finance staff to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing.<br>6. Review proposals for additional requests for space and advise best practices for space standards within the Humanitarian Hub.<br>7. Assist in budget planning and resource management for the Humanitarian Hub.<br>8. Provide regular progress reports to share with the relevant and intended parties.<br>9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.<br>Qualifications<br>Required Qualifications and Experience<br>Education<br>• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,<br>• University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.<br>Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.<br>Experience<br>• At least two years of experience working for a UN agency, international organizations, or Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) is preferred, and experience in project implementation in post-conflict or transitional situations;<br>• Previous related experience in humanitarian hubs settings and field operations in hardship settings is an advantage particularly in Yemen;<br>• Experience in facility and contract management is an advantage;<br>• Project implementation and supervision experience at the field level required;<br>• Experience in coordinating with managing other programme units and ability to establish and maintain working relations with government counterparts, UN agencies;<br>• Knowledge and experience of (Nations Department of Safety and Security) UNDSS procedures is an advantage;<br>• Experience within the United Nations Common System and the International Humanitarian Field; and,<br>• Work experience in a resource-limited setting and rapidly changing environment.<br>Skills<br>• Excellent drafting skills in preparing project reports, operational documents, and inter-agency communications within UN/NGO humanitarian and field settings, including contract, coordination, and compliance documentation.<br>Languages<br>All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).<br>For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).<br>Working knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.<br>Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.<br></div></section>

The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>Reporting Lines</strong></span></p><br><p><span>The incumbent reports to the Head, Livestock Sector and will work in close collaboration with project managers/CTAs, technical and operation teams in the country.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>Technical Focus</strong></span></p><br><p><span>Plan and support the implementation of animal diseases surveillance systems in Yemen, livestock Vaccination and treatment Campaign, Pre and Post vaccination Evaluation.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>Tasks and responsibilities</strong></span></p><br><p><span><i>Surveillance and vaccination campaign</i></span></p><br><p><span>• Assist the preparation and implementation of disease surveillance systems, vaccination campaign, the Pre and Post Vaccination Evaluation (PVE).</span><br><span>• Assist in providing technical support to the General Directorate of Animal Health and Veterinary Quarantine (GDAHVQ )in laboratory analysis of the serum samples collected and report writing.</span><br><span>• Follow up with the GDAHVQ and agriculture offices on the technical and financial report and prepare the payments for the LoAs.</span></p><br><p><span><i>Capacity building to GDAHVQ</i></span></p><br><p><span>• Assist in the preparation and facilitation of a 5-days training course on animal disease diagnostics, lab quality assurance and surveillance system for 10 lab technicians from the Central Veterinary Laboratory (CVL) (one in CVL-Sana'a and one in CVL- Aden)</span><br><span>• Assist in the preparation and facilitation of a 4-days training course on transboundary animal diseases (TADs) Surveillance, Control and Outbreak investigation for 30 surveillance officers from the centre and governorates (one in Sana'a and one in Aden)</span><br><span>• Assist in supporting planning and implementation of capacity building of the veterinary extension staff at GDAHVQ on TADs surveillance.</span></p><br><p><span><i>Animal Health Strategy</i></span></p><br><p><span>• Support the planning, coordination and organization of meetings with GDAHVQ, stakeholders from the private sector, representatives of Veterinary Statutory Body (VSB), laboratories, veterinary education establishments, etc.</span><br><span>• Assist in collecting and reviewing the available data related to the concept of One Health and AMR in the northern governorates.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING</strong></span></p><br><p><br><span><strong>Minimum Requirements </strong></span></p><br><p><span>• Advanced degree in veterinary medicine, veterinary epidemiology and related field.</span><br><span>• a minimum of 5 years directly applicable experience in managing animal health programme or related experiences.</span><br><span>• Working knowledge of English and Arabic</span><br><span>• National of Yemen or resident of the country with valid work permit</span></p><br><p><br><span><strong>FAO Core Competencies</strong></span></p><br><p><span>• Results Focus</span><br><span>• Teamwork</span><br><span>• Communication</span><br><span>• Building Effective Relationships</span><br><span>• Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement</span></p><br><p><br><span><strong>Technical/Functional Skills</strong></span></p><br><p><span>• Ability to plan, organize, implement, and report on project interventions.</span><br><span>• Excellent communication skills in English, both orally and in writing, and ability to draft technical reports in English.</span><br><span>• Work experience in more than one location or area of work.</span><br><span>• Extent and relevance of experience in projects implementation</span><br><span>• Extent and relevance of experience working with government, NGOs and/or UN agencies.</span><br><span>• Excellent technical skills in planning, implementing, and reporting on animal health interventions.</span><br><span>• Teamwork and strong soft skills including interpersonal, ethical, listening and communication skills, proactive, problem solving, self-organizing, planning, organizing, setting priorities and efficient use of time.</span><br><span>• Computer literacy in MS office, familiarity with agricultural commodity exchange online system and animal identification and traceability systems.</span><br><span>• In-depth knowledge of programme and project implementation is considered a strong asset.</span><br><span>• Extent and relevant experience in implementation of projects and planning and monitoring, and reporting.</span><br><span>• Relevant work experience in emergency context.</span></p><br> </div>
