I. Background

Summary of the project
The Life-saving shelter Assistance to the conflict-affected communities in Marib City district, Marib Governorate and Khab Wa Ash Sha'f district under Al-Jwaf governorate project Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) will provide life-saving shelter assistance to communities affected by conflict in Marib City district, Marib Governorate, and Khab Wa Ash Sha'f district in Al-Jwaf governorate. The project responds to the urgent needs of vulnerable communities exacerbated by recent floods and storms, which have resulted in widespread displacement, food insecurity, and increased protection risks. Improve living standards and resilience through the provision of shelter, NFIs (Non-Food Items), and access to safe water and sanitation facilities. Prevent and mitigate protection risks, particularly for women, girls, boys, and men, through the implementation of effective protection measures and community engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MEAL Assistant supports the implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities for the project, including data collection, reporting, and the management of accountability mechanisms. The position ensures compliance with donor and HDP standards, contributing to the effective delivery and documentation of project outcomes. He/She will work fully time to OCHA project. the position will be dedicated in Marib/Aljwaf.
Under the direct supervision of MEAL and reporting officer, the MEAL assistant, will undertake the following tasks:
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Assist in the design and implementation of baseline, post-distribution monitoring (PDM), and end-line surveys.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and ensure adherence to implementation plans.
- Consolidate and review data collected during monitoring visits, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports, including weekly and monthly updates.
Data Management:
- Compile, verify, and sort data for entry into project databases.
- Ensure the accuracy of beneficiary details and eliminate data inconsistencies or duplication.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation and archive records in an organized and secure manner..
- Perform data cleaning, verification, and quality assurance processes.
Accountability & Feedback
- Manage beneficiary feedback and complaints received through phone, feedback boxes, and other channels.
- Ensure timely recording of feedback and complaints into the database and follow up until resolution.
- Support the implementation of accountability mechanisms, including maintaining visibility items and feedback tools at field sites.
- Provide regular reports on accountability and feedback mechanisms to the MEAL and Reporting Officer.
Support & Reporting:
- Prepare beneficiary lists and other required documentation for distribution activities.
- Draft and submit weekly and monthly reports on project progress and data analysis.
- Support the MEAL and Reporting Officer during field visits and in preparing reports for donors.
- Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the MEAL and Reporting Officer to support project objectives.
- Where necessary, perform any other duty as and when called upon by the line manager.

II. Education and Experience
- A postgraduate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, Statistics, or a related field Or
- Minimum of three years of working experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning or research at field level, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
- Previous experience in a humanitarian/ development setting.
- Experience in conducting surveys or evaluations e.g., post-distribution monitoring, DDM, Baseline and endline surveys, will be a distinct advantage.
- Experience in data collection using mobile data collection systems such as KoBo Collect, or ODK.
- Experience in data analysis using Excel, PowerBI, and SPSS.
- Good technical skills in writing surveys and assessment reports.
- Required Travel: Willingness to travel to remote areas of the country.
