Project Agribusiness Specialist -2025
- Location: Aden/Lahj Governorates (with regular travel to other sites).
- Period: 8 months, renewable subject to performance.
- Duty Station: Life Makers Meeting Place Organization (LMMPO), Aden/Lahj –Yemen.
- Terms: Full Time Position (8 Eight hours per working day), with field visits to the work sites.

LMMPO is keen to have a competent candidate to fill the position of Project Agribusiness Specialist.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
1. Lead the implementation of livelihood activities focused on agricultural resilience and water availability.
2. Ensure all project activities align with overall project goals and objectives.
3. Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify the specific requirements of target communities.
4. Identify and select beneficiaries based on predefined criteria to support the most vulnerable populations.
5. Develop adaptive strategies to respond to changing circumstances in agribusiness and rural development.
6. Design and deliver training programs on sustainable agriculture, integrated water resource management, and climate-smart farming.
7. Build the capacity of local farmers and community members to adopt and sustain best practices.
8. Oversee the fair and transparent distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds, tools, and resources.
9. Facilitate and support income-generating activities that align with project objectives.
10. Conduct market research to analyze trends, demand, and supply chain opportunities.
11. Assist in developing business plans for smallholder farmers, WUAs, and agribusiness Associations.
12. Promote financial literacy among farmers, including securing loans, grants, and investments.
13. Support value chain development by improving connections between producers, suppliers, and markets.
14. Ensure project activities are inclusive, addressing the needs of women, youth, and marginalized groups while promoting gender equality.
15. Apply expertise in natural resource management for sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
16. Ensure compliance with agricultural policies, environmental regulations, and certification standards.
17. Engage with local stakeholders, including community leaders and government officials, to ensure project sustainability.
18. Foster partnerships and collaborations to enhance project impact.
19. Mobilize and engage community members, fostering trust, cooperation, and active participation.
20. Regularly monitor project progress and assess its impact and report to the project manager.
21. Prepare and submit detailed reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
22. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
23. Any other tasks related to the project.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture.
- At least 5 years of experience in the same field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working with local and international organizations in the same field.
- Experience in providing multi-sector emergency food assistance and livelihoods to the most vulnerable households, including internally displaced persons and host communities in Lahj Governorate.
Languages:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is preferred.
