Job Summary:
The M&E Assistant will support Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) efforts in the targeted districts of Taiz and Al Daleah. The primary responsibilities of this role include designing and maintaining data entry screens, managing the data collection process, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency across all project activities. The assistant will also be responsible for reconciling data discrepancies, generating reports, and collaborating closely with program teams to ensure that data-driven insights inform decision-making. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate data management and reporting for effective project monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Maintenance of Data Entry Systems:
- Support the design and maintenance of user-friendly data entry systems for accurate and efficient data collection throughout the project.
Data Collection Management:
- Coordinate the data collection process, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent data entry for both qualitative and quantitative metrics in accordance with project requirements.
Data Reconciliation and Quality Assurance:
- Regularly check and reconcile data to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Work closely with program teams to correct data inconsistencies and maintain high data quality standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Assist in generating weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports, summarizing project progress, outcomes, and other key findings from the collected data. Ensure reports are clear and detailed, reflecting accurate data.
Collaboration with Program Teams:
- Work closely with program teams to share insights derived from the collected data and ensure that data-driven decisions are integrated into project activities.
Support Data Management:
- Support the Data Management team by organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data. Ensure data is available for review and integration into infographics, reports, and other communication materials.
Regular Data Monitoring and Quality Control:
- Participate in regular data reviews, ensuring that all collected data meets required standards and that methodologies align with donor and organizational expectations.
Training and Support:
- Provide guidance and support to field staff involved in data collection, ensuring that they understand data requirements and methodologies, and are equipped with the tools to perform their roles effectively.
Timely Reporting:
- Ensure the timely preparation and submission of reports and data deliverables to the M&E Officer and other stakeholders, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Documentation and Dissemination of Findings:
- Help document lessons learned and best practices based on data insights, ensuring they are disseminated to internal and external stakeholders.
Data Verification and Validation:
- Ensure proper verification and validation processes are in place for data accuracy and integrity, working with the M&E Officer to cross-check results and analysis.
Support the Data Review Process:
- Participate in periodic data review meetings, contributing to discussions about data findings and adjustments to improve project performance.
Other Duties:
- Perform other related tasks as required by the M&E Officer or program teams to support the overall monitoring and evaluation activities of the project.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
Education:
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, management, statistics, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least one year of experience in an M&E role, preferably within the INGOs/NGOs sector, with exposure to data collection and reporting processes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in data entry and data management systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and basic statistical packages (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SPSS, etc.).
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Good understanding of M&E processes, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Flexible and proactive, with a willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, and travel to field sites.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with database management, and M&E software or tools (e.g., CommCare, KoboToolbox, or similar).
