About our Country Program 

Relief International has been operational in Yemen since 2009 with programming in line with Relief International’s global strategy with Health as a central focus and components linked to Health through the sectors of Nutrition, WASH, Protection, and Livelihoods. The context in Yemen is extremely dynamic and requires the navigation of regulatory and access challenges to reach populations in need in the Whole of Yemen.

2.    Job Profile

Design the format/system for field data collection, and ensure all health information collected from supported health facilities is consolidated and represented in the program database to facilitate analysis & learning. Monitor the progress of the program against the set indicator targets. Facilitate all Human resources-related activities for supported health facility workers, with full coordination with the Project team. Responsible to gather the data and consolidate it with the data shared by Supported HFs in the other project locations. 

3.    Key responsibilities 

Data Management

  • Lead the proper data management and the preparation of reports through technical guidance and on-the-job training.
  • Collect the data from supported HFs and compile it together into one report.
  • Preparing and sharing the sectors/clusters' and TPM related data, information, guidelines, interventions mapping, and analysis.
  • Work closely with the Area Manager and project officer in ensuring appropriate, timely, and early deployment of project data tools for program start-up activities according to the developed detailed implementation plans.
  • Ensure timely field data collection and entry into the program database. 
  • Share regular Feedback with Project officer and AM on the common findings in the reports to be considered for correction and act accordingly.
  • Work closely with field team and project Officer to review and share projects’ success stories
  • Ensure all Program data is held securely and monitor the archiving system (Software or hardcopy) for program to ensure the comprehensive and storage of the data ensuring smooth and regular data retrieval mechanisms.
  • Perform data analysis and produce reports in various formats including graphs, charts etc. as required weekly, monthly, and quarterly with submission to the program manager. 
  • Perform data cleaning on a daily basis. Ensure data quality.
  • Support in establishing procedures for identifying problems and inconsistencies in overall data management.
  • Entering, updating and analysing routine data for research projects ensuring completeness and quality.
  • Working closely with |AM, PO and MEAL coordinator for the establishment of IPTT, Indicator Definition sheets, custom forms and all required monthly reports.

Capacity Building

  • Responsible for training of the supported health facilities’ Workers in information system formats and making sure that all concerned HWs at the health facilities have good knowledge and understandings of the reporting system.
  • Train Data entry in the supported HFs on data collection and data management.

Coordination/ Data Management Support

  • Working effectively as a team member with the field team to improve the quality of the health data.
  • Troubleshoot data submission errors and data error issues.
  • Support the design and validation of data collection tools (forms, questionnaires, etc.) and related data analysis plans.
  • Coordinate with supported Health facility staff and check all information/data reported with field staff to ensure accuracy and validity.
  • Support Program field staff to identify common mistakes in the reports and provide corrective measure. 
  • Provide technical assistance to project Staff and the supported health facility staff on data collection and reporting.
  • Coordinate with MEAL department in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project information and data (IPTT).

4.    Person Specification

Skills, knowledge, and expertise required for the role. 

Essential criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Information Systems, Statistics, or any other related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in health information management/data management for Health & Nutrition projects at INGOs.
  • Applicable knowledge working with statistic databases.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and excellent sense of organization.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Committed, responsible, and ability to learn. 
  • Office Suite Excel and Word.
  • Extremely flexible and have the ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong team management skills and ability to relate to and effectively motivate staff.
