GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the WPE Officer, the WPE field assistant will be responsible for the quality implementation of the WPE activities based on the given work plan highlights  in the Women and Girls Community Center (WGCC), Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) located in the Health Facilities while working in close collaboration with BFD/s team. partners

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the establishment of the WGCC/WGSS 
  • Assist the WPE Officer in managing and supervising the WGCC/SS team and supervising activities.
  • Work with social workers to ensure that WPE case management standards are adhered to.
  • Assist in supervising PSS training; Referral Pathways Case Management; Adolescent Specific Programming; EMAP; Women Rise Digital literacy.
  • Ensure supplies/resources for counseling spaces, women centers and other program activities are requested on a timely manner and are efficiently utilized.
  • Conducting safety audits, in coordination with the Prevention Officer, to identify risks and compile findings in weekly report to improve services.
  • Work with the Prevention Officer to develop daily and weekly plan based on case trends and need of women and girls.
  • Assist the WPE Officer in working in coordination with external actors, to improve the GBV referral pathway.
  • Assist the WPE Officer in maintaining positive coordination and relationships with GBV actor and services providers.
  • Assist the WPE Officer in developing and conducting training, and workshop for BFD staff, volunteers and GBV actors on response activities.
  • Assist the WPE Officer in coordinating and communicating with the stakeholders to ensure safe and accessible programing.
  • Contribute in preparing the monthly spending, procurement, and work plans.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the WPE Officer.

Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS): The role holder is required to carry out the duties in adherence to the Core Humanitarian Standards, the values and principles outlined in BFD's policies such as Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, Anti-Retaliation and other internal policies and guidelines.

Required Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, International Development or related fields.
  • Proven experience working in women protection, gender-based violence prevention, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with case management approaches and survivor-centered care.
  • Experience in capacity building and training on gender equality and women's rights.
  • Knowledge of referral mechanisms and services for survivors of gender-based violence, including legal, medical, psychosocial, and economic support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software for data collection, and reporting.
