Reference:  24-13 
Duration: Till March 31, 2025, renewable based on fund availability & performance

SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of CHVs Assistant is managing Community Health Volunteers activities, along with capacity building activities to nutrition workers in health facilities and CHVs Assistant, in coordination with Nutrition Assistant, Nutrition Officer, GHO and other related authorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The “CHVS Assistant “will be responsible but not limited to:

  • He/She will be responsible for initiating, directing and coordinating all required Community health activities. 
  • Work closely with the Nutrition Assistant and Officer to determine the nutrition and training needs for Community Health Volunteers of the programs within the scope of the grants. 
  • Work with local health authorities, nutrition team, to design and implement a system for reporting the outcomes, and data. 
  • Assist in the selection and training of qualified Community Health Volunteers.
  • Submit appropriate reports of field activities to the Nutrition Officer.
  • Make frequent site visits to facilities to ensure that appropriate care and training are being conducted.
  • Review community health volunteer’s attendance sheet and submit to the finance for payment.
  • Review community health volunteer’s reports and conduct regular visits and on job training.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Direct Supervisor. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health/nutritional science, dietetics, or food science is required.
  • One year experience in nutrition field and activities implementation.
  • Proven experience as a community nutrition Supervision.
  • Team working skills.
  • Keen interest in the impact of diet on health.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
  • Computer skills, especially Ms. Office.

An understanding of biochemistry or human physiology
