Description: Partners Yemen is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that began its work in Yemen since 2009 as an international organization. Partners Yemen has a long history of building trust and working with local stakeholders, regional and international donors for over a decade. Partners Yemen is in a unique position to work with communities, women and local authorities throughout Yemen to resolve conflicts, restore service delivery systems, and important governance; lead conflict-sensitive peacebuilding initiatives; and reach out to the most marginalized and vulnerable groups to ensure their voices are heard, their needs are met, and they have fair access to vital resources. The organization also works to empower and build the capacities of government and non-governmental organizations working in the field of development, conflict transformation, non-violence promotion, violence mitigation, youth and women engagement in cooperative societies and entrepreneurship, service provision, facilitating labor market entry, and reintegrating youth during and after conflict. As well, it supports the peacebuilding process, accountability, reconciliation, justice, and enhances partnership structures between sectors.

Job Summary: The project Officer supports program implementation by supporting the Program Manager will in various locations of the project operational sites. She/he will oversee program activities in the targeted areas and will implement a high quality of day-to-day implementation of the project. S/he will ensure timely implementation, monitor work progress, and complete the handover process. The Officer will represent PY during community meetings and ensure high quality projects are delivered. S/he will work alongside with project staff in all location to effectively implement the project action and time plan and adjust activities accordingly and ensure good success stories and case studies are developed regularly.

Duties/responsibilities:

  • •    Support the process of assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and follow up of program activities, including  but not limited to:   
    • o    Continuous communication with the project manager and assisting the project management
    • o    Updating and maintaining work plans
    • o    Determining actual program activities costs and updating budgets as appropriate
    • o    Taking financial advances to the field, ensuring proper documentation is provided upon return to clear advances
    • o    Prepare regular progress reports, status updates, and presentations for the project management, organization management and external stakeholders
    • o    Represent Partners Yemen in events and meetings
    • o    Coordinate and arrange activity logistics, including participant, trainer, and staff accommodations and transportation, invitations, dealing with program activity venues, and media, photograph, and video needs
    • o    Travel to the field to monitor and evaluate program activities
    • o    Document program activities for inclusion in programmatic reports
    • o    Maintain accurate and up-to-date programs documentation, including projects files, records, and reports
    • o    Responsible for compilation of accurate project data and sharing regular reports and updates to the Project Manager
    • o    Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among projects teams, stakeholders, and partners
    • o    Ensure correct (beneficiary selection, and verification process
    • o    Report any concerns, suggestions for improvement, or new ideas to Program Manager
    • o    Attend team’s in-person or virtual frequent meetings 
    • o    Build and strengthen relationships with potential and current donors and partners
    • o    Maintain a professional relationship with the project stakeholders at all levels.
    • o    Compile data and share with relevant staff in a timely manner
    • o    All documents should be translated and submitted into English.
  • •    Any other task requested by Program Manager, Deputy Director, or Executive Director.

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • •    Knowledge of the principles and pillars of locally-driven and sustainable development work, particularly in gender and women inclusion (sector)
  • •    Demonstrated ability to handle program logistics and support program activities
  • •    Knowledge of socioeconomic, political, cultural, gender and security issues Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handle multiple requests simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • •    Proven experience working with women and youth groups. 
  • •    Demonstrated ability to handle cash responsibly and account for expenditures.
  • •    good administrative , communication and organizational skills
  • •    Very good written English and ability to write very good quality report and emails
  • •    Very good at using Excel and other MS Office application.
  • •    Ability to represent SCI in meetings with local authorities and other stakeholders
  • •    Fluent in Arabic and Proficient in English.

 Experience:

  • •    At least three years of experience in the development field, program coordination, gender inclusion, with understanding of budgeting 

Education:

  • A BA degree or higher in development or related field preferably social sciences, gender studies,  business administration, economics. Combination of prior experience and appropriate training will be considered.
