Position: Case Management Officer (ONLY NATIONAL)


Location: Taiz


Grade: 4


Contract Length: Till June 2026


The Opportunity:


The Child Protection Case Management Officer will be responsible for activities related to case management. She/he will be responsible for effective implementation and proper documentation of all child protection cases. The CM Officer will ensure that project activities on case management are in line with Save the Children's key child protection principles including best interests of the child, confidentiality, do no harm and child participation, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations. She/He will provide technical oversight to stakeholder and case management team.


Key Areas of Responsibilities: 


Planning


  • Oversee the technical implementation of the Child protection activities in Taiz and ensure the efficient delivery of the project activities.
  • Develop weekly and monthly work plans and support the assistants in preparing individual weekly work plans and review his/her performance on weekly and monthly basis. 
  • Actively contribute to the planning of field visits and supervision checklists in advance of trips and report back to the program Manager.
  • In collaboration with the Child protection Project Coordinator develops detail implementation plan and ensure the project is being implemented according to budget, time and quality indicators of the project.
  • Ensure that activities are appropriately planned and that delays and constraints are documented and solutions identified.
  • Prepare monthly cash forecasting for the project and track the monthly expenses.
  • Develop weekly transportation plans, prepare and follow-up procurements.

Delivery


  • Auditing Case Files and ensure intervention plan align with CP activities.
  • Supervise and ensure Kits distribution campaigns as recommended and aligned with Referral pathways. 
  • Responsible for child protection activities delivery, including the day-to-day management of project site activities and volunteers.
  • Support the direct implementation of the project technical activities such as the training of Volunteers, CPCs and CLCs and, MoSAL SWs and CM activities including the distribution the different materials of CM.         
  • Conduct the relevant technical assessment to assess the capacity of the Volunteers in the targeted Location and design capacity building program accordingly and provide necessary technical training and develop appropriate technical guidelines and materials.
  • Ensure activities are completed within time and report any concerns.
  • Conduct regular visits to project sites to provide technical guidance/support and identify issues that need timely action and support at different levels.
  • Identify and report challenges to remove any obstacles that might arise during project implementation and communicate these challenges to the program manager.
  • Report monthly activity reports as well as in stock consumption/inventory.
  • Map and coordinate with service providers to support case management activities. 
  • Archive Cases files and commitment to SC case management SoPs in coding and confidentiality of beneficiaries.
  • Working closely with data management team to ensure reporting the cases in PRIME.

Coordination


  • Coordinate with relevant local authorities, MOSAL, community leaders, and other relevant key stakeholders such as local NGOs, community-based organizations in the implementation of the Child protection in Taiz. 
  • In collaboration with all relevant Volunteers, CPAs, SWs, and all stakeholders engage with children and adolescents to effectively monitor the implementation and impact of the CP programme on children’s issues, including issues of Main child protection Issues which includes UASC, CWD, dropping out of school and the neglected children and those affected from the conflict, ensure the quality according to children’s needs.
  • Coordination with other SCi sectors for program integration.
  • Coordinate with Logistics on procurement of CM supplies, distribution, documentation and reporting.

Supervising and Managing Staff 


  • Provide technical and operational support to the project assistants and SWs.
  • Conduct a training for the staff according to the need on the relevant topics.
  • Ensure volunteers understanding of Child Safeguarding policy and report any concerns.
  • Holding weekly meetings with CM and MHPSS assistants, discussing the achievements, challenges, and planning for the next week’s activities. 

Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability and Quality


  • With support from the MEAL team:
  • Implement M&E activities in the project site s/he is responsible for ensuring that the agreed tools are used properly.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits according to requirements and plans then report back with the findings to the Program Manager.
  • Conduct QLE assessments and report back to the Program Manager.
  • Actively monitor Child protection activities at targeted location, ensuring quality of Save the Children’s programme, reporting and flagging concerns to the Program Manager.
  • With support from the Accountability team, put in place accountability activities for the project, ensuring that feedback from children and their families is considered.

General


  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Perform other functions relative to Child Protection activities and initiatives that may be assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:


Essential:


  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Child’s Studies, Social Work; with experience for at least 3 years in implementing CP program with INGOs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Commitment to Save the Children Code of Conduct, Child Safeguarding Policy and values.
  • Very good in written & spoken English.
  • Very good at MS Office applications.

Desirable:


  • Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
