Médecins Sans Frontières France is opening an Internal and External RECRUITMENT for MSF staff Including MSF registered Daily Workers:
ALL ROUND TECHNICIAN
Location: Aden MSF Hospital – behind Sadaqa Hospital.
Contract type: Fixed-Term 4 months contract
Reporting to: Logistic supervisor, Logistics Manager
Main Purpose:
Perform specific works related to maintenance and repairs, according to logistics supervisor’s instructions and MSF procedures, in order to ensure a proper maintenance and functioning of MSF equipment, installations and infrastructures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Do all necessary repair, maintenance and rehabilitation small works on MSF premises or supported by MSF.
- Perform any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.
- Work in collaboration with other specialised technicians and workers, if necessary.
- Ensure that there are adequate stocks of consumables and materials for minor repairs and manage those stocks; place orders in good time.
- Perform regular inventory and housekeeping for all stock, tools and equipment in workshop
- Wear proper PPE and respect safety rules
- Keep working area clean and tidy.
- Look after all equipment and tools provided.
- Ensure correct use of extinguishers as well as know where they are located.
- Ensure that all record sheets and books related to logistical maintenance are always completed.
- Prepare needed reports and shift handovers before and after any repair or required maintenance.
- Prepare maintenance and repairs planning for each premise.
- Ensure that line manager is informed of any problems that might be linked to MSF premises or supported by MSF.
- Make suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSF premises or supported by MSF.
- Assist logistics department for any relative work needed.
- Immediately inform the line manager of any problems that arise during the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, theft or attempted break-ins.
- Plan timely replacement of used equipment.
- Participate in Logistics meetings and inform about maintenance / ongoing works on MSF premises or supported by MSF.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Desirable technical diploma or equivalent technical skills in three or more of the following fields: mechanics, energy electricity, ICT, supply management, communication, construction, welding, watsan. Valid and clean driving license.
Experience
- Essential, 2 years of previous working experience. in logistics activities related jobs. Desirable, previous experience in humanitarian aid.
Languages
- Essential, Mission working language and good command of English
Knowledge
- Desirable user level knowledge of MS
