Job Description

HUMAN ACCESS announces the following vacant position:

  • Job Title: Psychologist
  • Required number: two
  • Location: Marib Governorate / Marib City / Child Friendly Spaces Sweida Camp
  • Contract Duration: Seven months
  • Deadline:  12:00 pm on Monday, January 13, 2025
  • Job Specialization: Providing psychological support to the displaced.

Background

  • Human Access for Partnership and Development (HUMAN ACCESS) is a non-governmental, independent, non-profit, humanitarian, developmental, charitable, voluntary, and community-based organization. It was established in March 1990 by an elite of volunteers and social personalities as a voluntary non-governmental organization that implements its programs, projects, and services according to periodic plans, a deliberate and renewed strategy, and a method of work based on the scientific methodology to be an effective link between donors and beneficiaries. HUMAN ACCESS is OCHA implementing partner in Marib. HUMAN ACCESS is characterized by a strong and renewed relationship with development partners at home and abroad, and it has joint efforts with official and popular authorities. It is also distinguished by a tangible presence in many charitable and humanitarian events and activities. During its period of operation, which extends for about three decades, the association obtained several memberships in various organizations and bodies.
  • The association is a member of the Department of Public Information for the Non-Governmental Organizations of the United Nations (DPI-NGO), a member of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work, and an active and accredited partner to various international organizations, the most important of which are the World Food Program (WFP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
  • HUMAN ACCESS has also obtained membership in many local, Arab and international organizations and networks working in various fields of volunteer and humanitarian work. It in addition obtained the international quality certificate ISO 9001: 2008 as a culmination of its institutional work.
  • This project is for IDPs and entitled:’ Lifesaving Integrated response for the vulnerable people in Emergencies in Marib city district (LIFE Project)’

Responsibilities and tasks

  •  Preparing the quarterly and monthly plan for psychological support and counseling activities.
  • Receiving cases in the friendly space, center or project headquarters, which need counseling and psychological support services and  providing psychological support and initial counseling for them. 
  • Managing individual and group hearings (psychological support).  
  • Work to develop and improve the environment surrounding the target.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reports on various psychological support activities
  • Participate in the development of mechanisms and tools to follow-up, evaluate and impact psychological support activities.
  • Monitoring and documenting success stories related to psychological support.
  • Identify weaknesses and strengths and develop remediation proposals.
  • Attend periodic meetings .
  • Attend any meetings or training sessions assigned to it.
  • Carrying out any activity within the framework of the survey .
  • Respect the rules and ethics of work and adhere to the code of professional conduct of the association.
  • Commitment to the working hours specified by the project manager.
  • Participate in any project activity or meeting  and attend training courses and meetings related to activities in the same field  that may be organized by government agencies, partners, donors, international organizations or local communities when requested. 
  • Perform any other tasks entrusted to him within the framework of the project.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and experience

1.    Bachelor of Psychology.                         
2.    Experience of at least two years in the same field

  • Ability to use computer Office programs.
  • Ability to correspondence via e-mail.
  • Ability to withstand work pressures.
  • The ability to modernize, develop and innovate.
  • Skill in writing success stories.
  • Knowledge about humanitarian action and emergency response.
  • Excellent level of English.
  • Possess the skill in communicating with others.
  • Ability to work within a team.
