JOB TITLE: HR Intern
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Intern
UNIT/DIVISION: Human Resources
DUTY STATION (City, Country): YECO
DURATION: 6 months
REPORTING TO: National HR officer
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the Direct/ Technical guidance & supervision of the national HR officer, the incumbent will perform the following: (This is not an exhaustive list, and additional tasks may be assigned as deemed necessary by HR team.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and manage staff personal information in WFP system (Workday) and ensure timely follow up ensuring all information are updated.
- Maintain confidential personnel records, HR databases and archives, to ensure data and files are accurately stored and updated in compliance with the established standards.
- The intern is going to participate in the implementation and monitoring HR initiatives and functions i.e. learning and development, performance management review, contractual review…etc.
- Monitor stationary stock and request stationary whenever needed.
- Perform any other duties, as required by the supervisor.
Standard Minimum Qualifications:
The Internship programme envisions the eligibility criteria to ensure the programme is applied in a consistent and structured manner:
1. Be fluent in English (WFP working language)
2. Be fit to work at the duty station of the internship.
3. Not be sons, daughters, brothers or sisters of WFP employees.
Match one of the below conditions for education status:
a. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example, Bachelor’s degree) and have completed at least 2 years of the programme. Candidates should have attended classes in the past 12 months from a recognised university (please refer to the UNESCO list below or at UNESCO ™ | WHED World Higher Education Database | International Handbook of Universities | IAU | IHU (unesco-whed.org)
b. Currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example, Master’s degree) from a recognised university (please refer to the UNESCO list) and have attended classes in the past 12 months;
c. Recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the Internship programme) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the last 12 months.
Terms & Conditions:
- Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP.
- WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation and related costs.
- WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
