BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.

Project Overview

The Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen (SIERY) project aims to support smallholders and SMEs in Yemen by enhancing their value chain development, technical, financial, and business skills, and providing access to finance. This TOR outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Technical Consultants, specifically the Value Chain Development Consultant and the Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Development Consultant.

Value Chain Development Consultant

Responsibilities:

• •    Value Chain Analysis: Conduct in-depth value chain analyses of selected agricultural commodities in Yemen, identifying key bottlenecks, opportunities, and potential for value addition.
• •    Value Chain Mapping: Develop detailed value chain maps, including key actors, their roles, and linkages within the value chain.
• •    Value Chain Improvement: Propose strategies and interventions to improve the efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability of the selected value chains.
• •    Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify potential markets for agricultural products, both domestic and international.
• •    Trade Facilitation: Provide technical support to smallholders and SMEs in accessing markets, complying with trade regulations, and negotiating favorable terms.
• •    Quality Standards: Assist in the development and implementation of quality standards and certification schemes for agricultural products.
• •    Technology Transfer: Facilitate the transfer of appropriate technologies and practices to improve agricultural productivity and quality.
