Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) is a nonprofit humanitarian NGO based in Yemen. It was founded in 1995. SHS, winner of the Nansen refugee award in 2011, for its dedicated work in providing the assistance to refugees and migrants who arrive in Yemen. SHS is a trusted implementing partner to more than 5 international organizations operating in Yemen. SHS has built a strong career and trust among the local community and the international organizations through its tenure in providing assistance to the IDPS and most vulnerable groups.
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
The Reporting Officer works within the Program Department and Data Management to provide reliable and relevant information to program activities to achieve efficient reports internally and externally.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Reporting Officer will play a leading role in the development of the communication of findings from Projects. Under the supervision of the Programs Manager, he/she will be the primary channel through which communications and information sharing between SHS and its stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensure that the staff in the field provide all the collected data of the implemented activities on time for reports.
2. Compile field level information required to produce weekly progress updates, monthly reports from the field, and updates related to the humanitarian assistance in the project following the standard reporting format/scheme, quarterly indicator reports, annual reports and other narrative reports as assigned.
3. Overseeing reporting and data quality in an accurate and timely manner.
4. Maintains a close collaboration with the MEAL team, field and technical teams to ensure a smooth exchange of information.
5. Provide technical support, training and clarification on reporting policies, when needed.
6. Monitor and review regular sources of information and data required for preparation of reports, including information from NGOs, Updates, Studies surveys, statistics reports.
7. Supervise and monitor data life cycle: collecting, analyzing, sharing, and archiving for strong reporting.
8. Train the Technical Team on the requirements of the donor reporting templates.
9. Ensure the respect of the principle of confidentially and do not disclose any information related to work.
10. Provide mentorship and guidance to field staff to ensure quality reporting.
11. Ensure all staff understand and adhere to the project logical framework, indicators, and goals.
12. Attending external meetings, training sessions, workshops as requested from s/he supervisor.
13. Participation in the preparation of field survey reports and Need Assessment reports.
14. Record lessons learned and good practice case studies from reviews and evaluations and communicate them to the field team.
15. Perform other related duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Programs Manger, Executive Director
WORKS DIRECTLY WITH: Projects Officers, Data Management team, Field Officers, MEAL Officers, Project Managers, Media team.
