Fisheries Consultant

Impact Consulting

Location: Aden, Yemen (with travel to Abyan and Lahj governorates)

Duration: 6 - 9 months

Background:

Impact Consulting is dedicated to enhancing economic opportunities, food security, and effective fisheries management in Yemen. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Fisheries Consultant to support the development of the fisheries sector in the Aden subregion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in collecting and analysing data on fisheries resources, fishing practices, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support the organization and facilitation of consultative workshops with local communities, government officials, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to developing fisheries reports, analyses, plans, processes, measures, and recommendations. 
• Support the Team Leader and other consultants in project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in fisheries science, environmental science, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in fisheries management, data collection, or community engagement.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize and interpret complex information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic; proficiency in English is an asset.
• Experience working in crisis or post-conflict contexts is desirable.
