BCHR is a leading national non-governmental humanitarian agency with a global mission to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities. BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.
Job Summary:
The Field Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of project activities in the designated field locations. This includes ensuring the effective and timely execution of project interventions, coordinating with relevant stakeholders such as community leaders, local organizations, and government agencies. The Field Coordinator will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and evaluating project activities, as well as supervising and building the capacity of project staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management and Implementation
- Oversee the day-to-day implementation of project activities in the field, ensuring their effective and timely execution.
- Coordinate with project staff to ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with project objectives, work plans, and quality standards.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying challenges and proposing necessary adjustments to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with project guidelines, donor requirements, and relevant policies and procedures.
2. Stakeholder Coordination and Engagement
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and government agencies operating in the project area.
- Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure their involvement and participation in project activities.
- Represent the project and organization in coordination meetings, workshops, and other relevant forums, as required.
- Facilitate and promote community participation and ownership of project interventions.
Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation
- Contribute to the development of project work plans and budgets, ensuring their alignment with project objectives and priorities.
- Monitor project activities to track progress, identify gaps, and propose corrective measures as needed.
- Collect and analyze data related to project outcomes and impact, and contribute to project reporting.
- Support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of project interventions.
3. Staff Supervision and Capacity Building
- Supervise and provide guidance to project staff, ensuring their effective performance and adherence to project objectives and work plans.
- Identify capacity-building needs of project staff and facilitate training and mentorship opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive working environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and learning.
4. Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, international development, humanitarian studies).
- Minimum of [3] years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the field of humanitarian response or development.
- Knowledge and understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
- Strong coordination and networking skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in community engagement and participatory approaches.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
