Background
The Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) is a nonprofit humanitarian NGO based in the in Aden, Yemen. It was founded in 1995.The SHS provides assistance to refugees and migrants who arrive in Yemen every year. The organization also assists the local community in Yemen. The NGO won the Nansen Refugee Award, dedicated by the UNCHR. SHS has partnerships with UNCHR, OCHA, and WFP.
The M&E Officer will perform the following functions:
- Ensure programme quality and accountability through efficient and effective collection, receipt, input and review of information related to provision, preparing and distributing the daily meals to the pupils that are benefitting it
- Performing her/his responsibility through implementing the healthy Meals M&E activities in the targeted schools This has to be done according to the implementation strategy, planned activities and expected outputs and outcomes in the log-frame of the pilot project
- Collection of monitoring information, data from the targeted schools and collaborating with programme teams and the supply chain
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of the Healthy Meals in the five schools through PDM, focus group discussions, and other data collection methods as required
- Conduct field information through the SHS School Monitoring Format/ Checklist for documenting learning and analysis of program quality
- Support the preparation of program performance reports
- Work as part of a team; providing support where necessary in other administrative, information management of tasks
The project is implemented in the targeted primary schools and Early Childhood Care and Development (kindergarten) in Dar’ Assad
The M&E Officer will be closely working with and reporting to the Project Manager
Professional Qualification and relevant experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, development studies, community development or relevant disciplines with expertise in research/assessment methods and data analysis
- Experience at least 2 years in an M&E methodology or program quality role with a humanitarian organization in Yemen
- Experienced in the role and concept of M&E and analysis and interpretation of collected data
- Good communications skills with an ability to support in compiling monthly reports
- Computer literate with experience data management and using questionnaire and analyzing data
- Strong communication, memorization, and teamwork skills
