Job Summary
The Livelihood Project Assistant will work in direct support of livelihoods programming under the supervision of the Livelihood Project Officer. He/she will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Goat Distribution Project, as directed by the Officer, including beneficiary selection, training coordination, beneficiary mentorship and regular reporting. He/she will also assist in liaising with the relevant ministry officials (national and local level), clusters, other implementing partners and vendors to ensure good coordination and smooth project execution. He/she will work with the MEAL team to conduct surveys and compile reports to be submitted on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to internal and external stakeholders, including donors and ministry authorities. This position is based in Mokha with possible travel to project sites in Aden.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in beneficiary selection, based on vulnerability.
- Implement community mobilization processes for project activities, collaborating with local authorities and ensuring adherence to established beneficiary selection standards.
- Register targeted beneficiaries within the designated geographical area, conducting field surveys and maintaining accurate records.
- Adhere to a timeline of activities.
- Maintain open communication with communities, beneficiaries, and relevant stakeholders, facilitating information exchange and resolving concerns.
- Plan and organize logistical support for events (e.g. workshops, seminars, training) assisting with travel/accommodation.
- Work with M&E to conduct assessments, surveys and data collection.
- Liaise with involved parties as directed by Project Coordinator.
- Assist with beneficiary trainings.
- Assist in goats and feed distribution.
- Conduct regular follow-up visits with beneficiaries and assets (goats).
- Support asset (goat) procurement including contract criteria, following all procurement protocols.
- Receive feedback from beneficiaries.
- Supervise Community Animals Health Workers during their regular visits for assets (goats)
- Supervise Community Engagement Committees formed by Samaritan’s Purse.
- Attend cluster meetings.
- Contribute to regular reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Reviewing impact stories collected to ensure quality and follow ethical storytelling guidelines.

1. Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
2. Detailed oriented and experience with data entry, assessments and has good reporting skills.

5. Must be a self-starter and internally driven to success and hard work
6. Ability to interact well with people of different educational, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic , ,and has intermediate English.
8. Levelheaded and calm demeanor; able to firmly, yet professionally, direct people when needed
9. Willing to travel as required by program demand
10. Must have a high level of integrity, confidentiality and stewardship

Education / Experience Needed
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, fisheries science, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with NGOs in a livelihood capacity.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a similar job (Project Assistant)
LANGUAGE
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and intermediate English is required
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
