As a result, the organization has established itself among the most effective civil society organizations in Yemen that are working on health, education, and WASH issues in support of women, children, and youth. Operating out of its Headquarters in Sana’a and its offices in Taiz and Aden, SOUL, provides critical educational, health, and WASH services to urban and rural communities.
Job Information
- Job Title: SBCC Officer.
- Location: Taiz with regular visit to Hays, Al-Khokha, Sana’a, and Al-Jawf.
- Contract Type: Full Time.
- Contract Duration: 10 Month.
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
Job Description:
The SBCC officer will design, implement, and evaluate communication strategies that promote positive behavior change within communities. He/ she will create and pre-test communication tools (such as posters, brochures, videos, or social media content) to convey key messages related to health, nutrition, social issues, or other relevant topics. Monitoring the impact of SBCC interventions and producing reports are also part of his/her responsibilities. Overall, SBCC Officer play a vital role in fostering positive changes in behavior and attitudes
Key Responsibilities:
- The SBCC Officer will assist the project manager/Senior field officer to manage the SBCC activities on IYCF key messages sensitization.
- Lead the communication with the concerned stakeholders at the central level including local authority GHO, DHO, SCMCHA, and community leaders to facilitate SBCC activities.
- Develop the SBCC work plan and ensure the implementation of activities is according to the WB.
- Supervise SBCC awareness sessions conducted by the CHNVs and HWs through monthly reports, field visits, and photos.
- Report all activities conducted on weekly/monthly basis
- Represent the organization in the meetings, clusters and technical working groups that are related to SBCC as requested by the line manager.
- Develop the SBCC materials and SOPs and ensure that they are used efficiently and by the target group.
- Gather feedback on implementation of SBCC activities in targeted districts and provide technical support and corrective actions, when necessary.
- Conduct regular meeting / communication with CHVs/ HWs to discuss all related issues.
- Ensure all aspects SBCC activities adhere to program quality standards and policies.
- Perform other tasks duties as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health, Food Science and Technology, Development Studies, Sociology or any related field.
- Minimum 2 Years of experience in a similar position.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English and Arabic languages.
- Must have good organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Excellent Computer knowledge – Microsoft office programs and relevant nutrition database.
- Ability to multi-task, handle pressure well, flexibility, adaptability to transition.
