ABOUT THE FOUNDATION:
Yemen Development Foundation (YDF) is a non-governmental, and non-profit foundation. It was established in 2016 by a group of development professionals with aims to empower most vulnerable, poor and disadvantaged populations. It is professionally managed NGO, active in individual and community related issues. The primary focus of YDF is on the problems of the poor; in their struggle to obtain a life of justice and dignity. Environment stabilization, humanitarian work, education, water and sanitation, food security and empowerment of the community for self-governance are the most important components of its mission. Gender justice, natural resource management, and livelihood security are YDF primary areas of concern. Maternal and child health, nutrition, child rights and youth empowerment are also within the main focus of YDF, due to the belief that women are a pillar in society, and that children and youth are the foundation for a brighter future for Yemen.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop technical studies (detailed bills of quantities (BOQs), drawings, estimated budgets works required at the schemes (projects) and in all sectors, based on assessment and program requirements, ensuring that recommended work for people of concerns.
- Supervise the construction/rehabilitation process and directly ensuring that it is completed within timelines, according to approved BOQs and quality outcomes and in compliance with YDF guidelines.
- Support project personnel to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities.
- Ensure that adequate technical standards are maintained for all services provided.
- Ensure adequate implementation of the project plan.
- Ensure that the implemented activities achieve their outputs.
- Verify that all designed materials for shelter activities such as transitional shelter & House rehabilitation projects are of the highest quality.
- Prepare and submit weekly activity reports and filed visits regarding the shelter activities.
- Monitor and evaluate project activities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contribute to creating a positive image and overall credibility of the institution.
- Follow the communication process for field staff in addition to reviewing staff performance with human resources and the general management of the institution.
- Maintain open communication lines with all field staff, beneficiaries, service providers and authorities.
- Attending and representing the foundation in the respective coordination meetings related to the project.
- All other tasks and duties related to work as needed & instructed by line manager.
Requirements and Qualifications: -
- Bachelor degree in civil engineering or other relevant engineering field.
- Three years of Civil engineering experience
- Knowledge about shelter projects. (particularly in Transitional shelter and rehabilitation works).
- Must be a good team player with good communication skills
- Flexible and committed.
- Good English-language (speaking, reading, writing).
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint presentation etc.
