1. Background
YKF partnered with Save the Children to implement the “Building Resilience through Integrated Community-based and Humanitarian Systems Transformation and Leadership in Yemen" (BRIGHTLY) project. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the project. The project aims to enhance the livelihoods, food security, and resilience of targeted communities in Yemen through cash transfers, improved productivity, and capacity building.
2. Responsibilities
The Project Manager will have the following key responsibilities:
2.1 Project Planning and Coordination
1. Develop a detailed project implementation plan, including timelines, deliverables, and budget allocation.
2. Coordinate with stakeholders and relevant government agencies to ensure smooth project implementation.
3. Monitor project progress, identify any challenges or risks, and take appropriate actions to address them.
4. Ensure effective coordination and communication among project staff, partners, and stakeholders.
2.2 Financial and Administrative Management
1. Oversee the financial management of the project, including budget tracking, expenditure control, and financial reporting.
2. Ensure compliance with donor requirements and financial regulations.
3. Coordinate with the finance team to prepare and submit timely financial reports.
2.3 Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive MEL framework for the project, including monitoring tools, data collection methods, and evaluation plans.
2. Regularly monitor project activities, outputs, and outcomes, and provide feedback for improvement.
3. Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing among project staff and partners.
2.4 Team Management and Capacity Building
1. Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, including Project Assistants and other staff members.
2. Conduct regular performance assessments and provide project staff mentoring and capacity-building support.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes collaboration and learning.
2.5 Reporting and Communication
1. Prepare and submit timely and accurate project reports to YKF’s Programs Manager.
2. Represent the project in meetings, workshops, and other relevant forums.
3. Maintain regular communication with project partners, government officials, and key stakeholders.
3. Qualifications and Experience
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., international development, project management).
2. Proven experience managing and implementing complex projects, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
3. Strong understanding of food security, livelihoods, and resilience-building approaches.
4. Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and donor reporting.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is desirable.
