Position Title: WASH Project Officer (Hygiene Promotion)
Duty Station: Al-Mokha, Taiz Governorate

Job Summary
The WASH Project Officer- Hygiene Promotion (PO) will be responsible for implementation of project activities related to hygiene promotion.
Major Responsibilities:
Organize and Implement Community Hygiene Promotion Campaign:
- Recruit, organize, train and supervise community health volunteers (CHV’s) in community hygiene promotion campaigns.
- Work with Project Coordinator to prepare materials for the campaigns.
- Work with the logistics team to procure items necessary for hygiene promotion campaigns.
Communicate with community regarding project activities.
- Organize and register beneficiaries as needed for project activities.
- Responsible for organizing and implementing beneficiary feedback system according to humanitarian protection standards.
- Meet regularly with beneficiary communities and leaders, to ensure project effectiveness and community involvement in decision making on the services.
- Report any community concerns to project coordinator.
Assessment Implementation: collect and compile data in an organized fashion so it can be understood by the organization.
- Work with the Project Coordinator to conduct assessments in project target areas.
- Support the KAP survey, baseline and end line in close coordination with the MEAL department.
Communicate regular progress updates (daily, weekly, monthly) via phone and written report (email).
- Collect beneficiary data and ensure that they are documented to a very high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collect information such as beneficiary numbers and success stories to be submitted to the Project Coordinator.
- Report on activities achievements, challenges faced at the field level to the Project coordinator.
Project Implementation: Work with the WASH team to implement the project in a timely manner.
- Work with team to organize and conduct distributions of WASH items.
- Participate in community committees and water management committees establishment
- Mobilize the local communities to change behavior regarding hygiene practice.
- Support Project Coordinator in organizing meetings and trainings.
Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Needed
To perform this job well, a candidate should have 2 years’ experience in the WASH sector, including an understanding of WASH practices and the knowledge to implement WASH activities.
LANGUAGE
The candidate must speak Arabic. An ability to speak English is preferred.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

1. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be exposed to loud noises around maintenance and construction workshops.
