Job Title: Pharmacy Supervisor FSR # 540

Location: Azraq Camp

Job Summary :

The pharmacy supervisor will be directing a team of pharmacists, manage and monitor the hospital pharmacy and medication warehouse.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage the pharmaceutical stock in the Hospital Pharmacy, arrange stock by category and in alphabetical order, with the earliest expiring stock at the front of the shelf and the first in first out techniques “FEFO”
  • Support in establishing the right protocols for receiving and inspecting deliveries of drugs and establishing the right protocols to replenish and check the contents especially the expiry dates of drugs before and after use by medical escorts.
  • Ensure that all medicine is stored per the manufacturer’s recommendations and quality control by monitoring of the expiry dates of drugs.
  • Ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly reports are submitted.
  • Together with the Hospital Pharmacist Team, conduct inventory control of pharmacy on a regular basis.
  • To make sure to work in full coordination and cooperation with all Hospital departments and Pharmacy team members; to ensure an excellent quality service providing to the patients/refuges.
  • Manage to ensure supply the different hospital wards, communicate & keep the wards in- charge updated regarding to the stock inventory, and monitor the expiry & stock of medications.
  • Ensure the implementation of Jordan MOH clinical policies, tools, guidelines and UNHCR/IMC pharmacy Manuals for rational use of medications.
  • Monitor the supply quantity, expiration dates and quality of medicines.
  • Monitor the pharmacy and warehouse temperature daily & record it in order to ensure all items are kept at the appropriate temperature.
  • Work closely with Referral Doctor & Referral Officers regarding to the Exceptional Approval
  • Mediation “EAM”; prepare the EAM sheet, dispense &/or provide the EAM for the beneficiaries. Share the sheet & updates on weekly & monthly basis.
  • Directly supervise hospital pharmacist team to ensure day-to-day tasks & objectives are completed successfully and compliance standards are met. Discuss job expectations, set objectives and provide appropriate and timely feedback regarding performance.
  • Responsible for issuing PR (purchase order), coordinate with local and international suppliers of drugs verify/check quality and costs of suppliers' products; and make appropriate recommendations of reputable and reliable suppliers. place quarterly orders for drugs. Indicate detailed specifications such as generic names, packaging, formulation, and other pertinent information required in the procurement of drugs.
  • Experience on Costpoint, PIMS system.
  • Preparing orders and dispatching them from warehouse for other facilities in Azraq and Zatari camps
  • Carrying out regular physical inventories in Azraq warehouse
  • Follow up stock level and expired items in Azraq camp warehouse and place quarterly orders for drugs as requested.
  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Reply with a justification on discrepancies on physical inventory.
  • Monitor/report nearly expired medications.

Reporting:

  • Report the monthly consumption figures to the direct supervisor.
  • Report to direct supervisor and medical coordinator in advance in case of a high consumption and/or over prescribed medications that may lead to low stock or stock out.
  • Other reports on pharmacy as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s in pharmacy; or clinical pharmacist
  • Ministry of Health work permit.
  • Registration in pharmacist association.
  • Minimum 3 years post graduate experience as pharmacist in outpatient/inpatient pharmacy. One year of experience in supervisory role.
  • NGO experience is a plus
