Occupational Health Physician – EMEA (Contract) Location EMEA Region (Remote / Hybrid with regional site support as required) Experience Required5–10+ years of Occupational Health / Occupational Medicine experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Physician to support occupational health programs across EMEA sites. This role focuses on providing regional medical oversight, supporting occupational health case management, ensuring consistency in medical governance, and collaborating with third-party occupational health providers. The successful candidate will work closely with site EHS teams, occupational health providers, and regional leadership to ensure compliance with occupational health standards and regulatory requirements. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Third-Party Occupational Health Provider Oversight Provide medical oversight and coordination of occupational health service providers supporting EMEA manufacturing sites and offices. Review provider clinical outputs, reporting quality, and service delivery to ensure alignment with occupational health standards and regulatory requirements. Serve as the regional medical escalation point for complex or non-routine occupational health issues involving external providers. Recommend improvements and corrective actions to maintain consistency and quality across sites. Occupational Health Case Management & Medical Review Support occupational health case management activities, including complex or sensitive medical cases. Provide medical input into injury and illness classification in accordance with EHS reporting requirements. Review treatment pathways, referrals, and return-to-work recommendations provided by external occupational health providers. Provide guidance on workplace accommodations and fitness-for-work decisions. Medical Surveillance & Health Monitoring Review and interpret occupational health surveillance reports such as audiometry, spirometry, biological monitoring, and exposure assessments. Identify health trends, abnormalities, and emerging occupational risks. Provide recommendations for follow-up actions when monitoring results indicate potential health concerns. Support health risk reduction initiatives across sites. Data Integrity & Reporting Conduct monthly reconciliation between occupational health records and EHS reporting systems. Identify discrepancies, classification inconsistencies, and data quality issues. Ensure consistent application of medical definitions and reporting standards. Support accurate documentation and occupational health reporting practices. Occupational Health Standards Support Support implementation and ongoing application of occupational health performance standards across manufacturing locations. Provide medical guidance related to:Medical surveillance programs Fitness-for-work evaluations Medical emergency response Infectious disease management Medical records management Collaborate with regional stakeholders to ensure compliance and consistency. Medical Emergency Preparedness Review site medical emergency response plans and assess adequacy relative to site risks. Provide medical guidance to align emergency plans with regulatory requirements and organizational expectations. Support emergency preparedness and occupational health readiness initiatives. Qualifications Required Medical degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent). Formal training or certification in Occupational Medicine. Licensed to practice medicine in at least one applicable jurisdiction. Minimum 5 years of Occupational Health experience, ideally closer to 10 years. Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or operational environments. Strong understanding of occupational health surveillance, fitness-for-work assessments, and workplace medical governance. Experience working with third-party occupational health providers. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Experience supporting regional or multi-country occupational health programs. Familiarity with occupational health and EHS systems such as Cority or equivalent platforms. Experience with injury and illness classification within EHS frameworks. Knowledge of occupational health regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
