Training Officer

Position status: Full time.
Location: Kilo Project in IBB Governorate – Al Qaeda hospital 

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, humanitarian, non-governmental organization providing assistance to people in need as a result of natural and man-made disasters, irrespective of race, religion, ideology or politics. 

Main Purpose

Supporting in organizing and implementing the training activities and applying related tools within the mission according to MSF's standards and procedures to improve people’s capabilities in effectively achieving the mission's goals.

Accountabilities

  • Organize and coordinate the logistics and administrative activities needed for learning activities such as distribution materials, equipment requests, transport arrangements, obtaining the material approval of other partners, etc.
  • Participate in creation of any training material developed by the departments, including translating documents into local language; perform initial editing and proofreading and keeping the training materials available.
  • Gather information on the learning activities (with pre-post-test evaluations, feedback from participants), and report problems, success, and constraints.
  • Prepare and gather documents for the selection process of participants. 
  • Support his/her supervisor in performing training needs assessments, determining appropriate content and target groups for training, ensuring the continued improvements, and preparing a calendar of trainings to ensure the coverage of the training needs and maintain high standards of quality.
  •  Assist the Facilitator/Trainer in delivering training courses and may deliver training course him-self/herself when required.
  • Carry out supply management (orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, consumption, etc.) in his or her   department, to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • In support of the ATL, to act as a relay between the project and coordination in the management of local and decentralized training courses.
  • In support of the ATL, ensure that the training validated in the 2025 training plan (LNA learning Need Assement) is followed up by ensuring that each training is technically validated by the head of the department responsible for the project. 
  • For all local training courses, support their technical organization: contact with the provider, follow-up of the contract, support to participants (training materials: tablets, computers, stationaries).
  • For  Tembo training , to be the focal point on the project by ensuring the effectiveness of the training followed by the staffs, the impession of the training certificates (Tembo badges to establish a certificate), support to participants on the use of tablets, Tembo account creation, technical assistance on internet connectivity issues...
  • Develop and maintain up on backup lists for key positions for detachment staff. 
  • Focal person in arrangeing local training such as WtoMSF, Tembo  or any other training that organized at the project level.
  • Update the training follow-up list at the project level. 
  • Coordinate between supervisors, managers, the HR department, and LnD in coordination for appraisal follow-ups and Learning Needs Assessments within the project.

Requirements

Education    

  • Essential Secondary education. Administration, Teaching, or communication related Diploma studies desirable. For Medical, a degree preferably in Public Health, Education, Social Work

Experience    

  • Working experience of at least 1 year in a relevant position.
  • Desirable previous working experience in MSF or other NGO in developing countries

Languages: Proficient in English and Arabic 

Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
