Médecins Sans Frontières - France is looking for Yemeni nationals to recruit for the following position:

Electrician 

Location:  Saada Governorate_Haydan District
Contract duration: One year.                  
Contract type: 50% contract
Reporting to:  Hospital Logistics Supervisor
Opening Date: 16th December 24.

MAIN PURPOSE:

Performing autonomously, complex / advanced installation and maintenance of electrical and other energy systems in all MSF facilities across the mission (offices, health structures, warehouses, etc., according MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure a proper functioning and maintenance of MSF equipment and installations.

Accountabilities:

Ensuring all electrical installations in MSF facilities comply with MSF standards and performing autonomously and ensuring, all necessary complex / advanced electrical installations, maintenance and repairs, according to the supervisor’s instructions. This includes the Following tasks: 

  • Carrying out critical rehabilitation tasks and corrective maintenance interventions and the coordination and execution of required tasks as well as installation of needed electrical equipment as defined by each project. Elaborating the necessary documentation for carrying out energy installations projects (plans, list of materials, etc.)
  • Carrying out and updating the electrical installations inventory in MSF missions’ facilities and performing annual maintenance procedures and safety checks across facilities in the project. Executing any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.
  • identify local technical actors, and organize their participation in the project (training of technical staff, establishing relations with local companies, contractors and suppliers, quotations, contracts, etc.)
  • Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSF electrical installations and equipment and assisting logistics department with any urgent support/advice or any relative work needed
  • Managing the stock of consumable items related to electrical installation, repairs and maintenance, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage
  • Responsible for the equipment and tools (including extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
  • Keeping working area clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed and prepares needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:

  • Weekly Tours: Join the medical team to identify needs in field of safety and energy.
  • Standardization: Apply MSF standards, protocols, and technical recommendations from the mission energy manager to the energy infrastructure.
  • UPS Maintenance: Conduct efficiency tests and maintenance for UPS systems in regular, ensuring all sensitive medical devices are connected to the ups unites.
  • Solar Systems: In collaboration with the energy manager, implement all solar systems and modifications, conduct efficiency tests, and perform maintenance on all components regularly.
  • Emergency Projects: Participate in emergency projects and external activities, conduct assessments of electrical needs, prepare electrical drawings and Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and implement electrical setups according to MSF standards and protocols.
  • Maintenance Requests: Provide timely responses to maintenance requests regarding energy equipment.
  • MEMO Application: Respond to requests and follow up energy equipment maintenance using MEMO.
  • Cold Chain Maintenance: Implement preventive and corrective maintenance for cold chain system fridges and freezers.
  • Contingency Plans: ensure contingency plans for power supply and critical energy equipment.
  • Air Conditioner Maintenance: Implement preventive and corrective maintenance for air conditioners.
  • Monthly Evaluations: Evaluate electricity sources, frequency, voltage, and changes in electrical loads and energy consumption monthly.
  • Electrical Materials: Ensure that all electrical materials used are genuine and match MSF specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Energy meters: Follow up energy consumption in the MEMO application for all facilities under the MSF management in the project.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education:  Essential Electrician diploma or recognized formal training
  • Experience: Previous working experience as an electrician required (minimum 2 years’ experience)
  • Languages: Local and mission language essential (English and Arabic).
