Its programs are supported by USAID, BHA, The Japan Platform, DANIDA, GFFO, BMZ, IHA Canada, UNOCHA, and WFP It has presence in 12 Governorates in Yemen responding to 8 areas of humanitarian sectors. ADRA Yemen is undertaking programs in Yemen in the fields of health, nutrition, WASH, food security, livelihoods, and protection.

SUMMARY:

ADRA Yemen is looking for a highly motivated individual with exceptional English language skills and a fresh, creative perspective to join our team as a Communications & Media Assistant. The ideal candidate will possess strong design skills, proficiency in Canva, solid logical reasoning, and the ability to quickly learn new tasks. This position plays a key role in enhancing ADRA Yemen's communication materials, including designs, photos, and stories, ensuring the visibility and communication requirements of donors are met with high-quality outputs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The “Communication and Advocacy Assistant” will be responsible but not limited to: 

  • Assisting in gathering data and information for reports, publications, and other materials.
  • Editing and enhancing photos, artwork, charts, and other graphic elements to create engaging and professional presentations.
  • Coordinating the production and distribution of printed materials such as t-shirts, banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, and flyers.
  • Ensuring the visibility of ADRA Yemen and its donors, including the placement of logos and branding on materials and staff uniforms in the field.
  • Traveling to field locations as needed to cover activities, take photos, conduct interviews, and capture content for social media.
  • Creating certificates, banners, and other design elements while adhering to visibility guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Graphic design, Journalism, or any relevant field. 
  • 1 year of direct experience in Communications and Advocacy Assistant Position, Preferably in Humanitarian NGOs, 
  • Graphic design, print production, or visual content creation Experience is an added advantage. 
  • Strong team player with a positive, industrious attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Canva is essential.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Arabic, including translation and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, solve problems, and adapt to new tasks quickly.
