Job title: MEAL Assistant
Location: Sheba Youth Head Office (Taiz City)
For: Sheba Youth Foundation for Development.
I. Introduction
Sheba Youth Foundation for Development (SYF) is a civil society organization led by youth and women who work in a team spirit to empower youth and women to actively participate in development and peacebuilding in Yemen with a real vision of a stable society in which youth and women enjoy peace, development, and sustainable coexistence.
II. Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will work to implement the foundation’s M&E framework. This role is essential for ensuring that all M&E activities are conducted effectively, including field visits, data collection, analysis, and reporting. The M&E Assistant will play a key role in assessing program performance and impact, providing insights to inform decision-making and enhance program effectiveness.
III. Responsibilities M&E Implementation:
- Support M&E framework application, conduct field visits, and facilitate data collection (surveys, interviews).
Data Management:
- Design data tools, collect/analyze data, and maintain project databases.
Reporting:
- Prepare M&E reports, document findings, and collaborate on comprehensive project updates.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with program teams and community stakeholders for feedback and insights.
Quality Assurance & Complaints Handling:
- Review M&E processes for compliance, handle complaints, and suggest improvements.
IV. Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Statistics, International Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience for at least 3-5 years in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or fieldwork within the nonprofit or development sector is preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Strong data collection and analysis skills, with proficiency in using data management software (e.g., Excel, SPSS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
