Job title: Project Manager .
Location: Sheba Youth Head Office (Taiz City)
For: Sheba Youth Foundation for Development.
I. Introduction
Sheba Youth Foundation for Development (SYF) is a civil society organization led by youth and women who work in a team spirit to empower youth and women to actively participate in development and peacebuilding in Yemen with a real vision of a stable society in which youth and women enjoy peace, development, and sustainable coexistence.
II. Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and successful implementation of the project. This role is essential for ensuring that the project meets its objectives, is delivered on time, and adheres to budgetary constraints. The Project Manager will lead a project team and work collaboratively with the program manager of Sheba Youth to align project activities with the strategic goals of the foundation strategic goal.
III. Responsibilities Project Management:
- Plan, implement, and oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor project progress and performance, making necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and supervise the project team, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
- Organize regular team meetings to discuss project updates, challenges, and resource needs.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders involved in project activities.
- Facilitate community participation in project design and implementation, ensuring that local perspectives are considered.
- Represent the project at relevant forums, workshops, and networking events to promote the project initiatives and achievements including coordinating meetings with the other local partners that are part of the project.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
In cooperation with the MEAL team, the project manager will do the following:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of project activities.
- Collect and analyse data related to project outcomes and outputs, preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure that all project activities comply with organizational policies, donor requirements, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit timely progress reports to the program management, detailing project status, challenges, and financial expenditures.
- Manage project documentation, ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date.
Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Monitor expenditures and financial reporting, ensuring accountability and transparency in all financial processes.
IV. Job Requirements Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Gender Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in project management, particularly in peacebuilding or conflict resolution, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Proficient in project management tools and reporting software.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
