“Cook (Temporary as On-Call) – Sana’a”
For our program in Yemen, we are looking for a Temporary Cook, this position will be based in Sana’a.

Reporting to: HR/Admin Assistant Sana’a
Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the HR/Admin Assistant Sana’a, the Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for guests, ensuring high-quality food, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and adhering to food safety standards. The ideal candidate should be experienced in preparing a variety of cuisines and providing excellent service to ensure expat satisfaction.
Main activities
Meal Preparation:
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals for expat, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks as per the guest house menu or special requests.
- Ensure all meals are prepared with attention to detail, using fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Cater to different dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and allergen-free meals.
Menu Planning:
- Assist in planning daily or weekly menus in line with expat preferences and seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Offer input on new dishes and special menus for events or special occasions.
Kitchen Management:
- Ensure the kitchen is always clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Maintain proper storage of food items and ingredients, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Keep track of inventory, and assist in ordering and restocking food and kitchen supplies as needed.
Health & Safety:
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including food handling, storage, and cleaning protocols.
- Ensure compliance with guest house policies and relevant local health codes.
PROFILE REQUIRED
Qualification & Skills required:
- Proven working experience of one year in INGOs as a Cook/ Cleaner.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
- Very good communication skills.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
