Background
The Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) is a nonprofit humanitarian NGO based in the in Aden, Yemen. It was founded in 1995.The SHS provides assistance to refugees and migrants who arrive in Yemen every year. The organization also assists the local community in Yemen. The NGO won the Nansen Refugee Award, dedicated by the UNCHR. SHS has partnerships with UNCHR, OCHA, and WFP.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The logistics Assistant will be leading & involved in processing of all warehouses transactions against in planning to receive goods until good distribution in timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with SHS’s policies and vision
- Responsible for monitoring goods transported and delivered for timeliness and legality
- Provide specialized support to logistics operations and activities, following Standard processes and contributing, directly or indirectly, to the effective delivery goods assistance to beneficiaries.
- Responsible for the review, verification, and reconciliation warehouses documents
- Supervise the achieve all delivery / dispatch / inventory documents Manage documentation processing for execution of logistics operations
- Preparing and sharing the stock reports for warehouses with the logistics & project SHS’s management
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc).
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Direct supervision of storekeepers, plan work, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Perform other duties, as assigned.

REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Logistics coordinator
WORKS DIRECTLY WITH: Finance Unit, Operation Manager, Project Coordinator, and Project Manager.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in administration, accounting, marketing or public relations is required.
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in related fields is required.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills and command of MS Outlook – Excel, Word, etc.
