1. Background
YKF partnered with Save the Children to implement the “Building Resilience through Integrated Community-based and Humanitarian Systems Transformation and Leadership in Yemen” (BRIGHTLY) project. The FSL UCT Assistant plays a crucial role in the day-to-day implementation of a community-based project focused on food security and livelihoods. They are responsible for assisting with the execution of project activities, contributing to planning and coordination, and identifying and selecting project beneficiaries in collaboration with community leaders. The assistant facilitates the distribution of unconditional cash transfers, organizes training and community meetings, and supports the project's monitoring and evaluation efforts. They also contribute to accurate reporting and documentation, coordinate with stakeholders, and help showcase the project's impact and achievements.
2. Responsibilities
The FSL UCT Assistant will have the following key responsibilities:
2.1. Project Implementation Support
1. Assist in the day-to-day implementation of project activities.
2. Contribute to the planning and coordination of project activities, ensuring their timely and efficient execution.
3. Support the identification and selection of project beneficiaries in coordination with community leaders and relevant stakeholders.
4. Facilitate the distribution of cash transfers to targeted households.
5. Assist in organizing and facilitating trainings, workshops, and community meetings.
2.2. Monitoring and Data Collection
1. Support the implementation of the project's monitoring and evaluation plan.
2. Collect and document data on project activities, outputs, and outcomes.
3. Contribute to the preparation of periodic progress reports, including data analysis and visualization.
2.3. Documentation and Reporting
1. Assist in the preparation of project reports, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with donor requirements.
2. Maintain project documentation, including contracts, agreements, and meeting minutes.
3. Contribute to the development of success stories, case studies, and other communication materials.
2.4. Coordination and Communication
1. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including community leaders and local authorities.
2. Support the organization of coordination meetings and workshops.
3. Qualifications and Experience
1. University degree in social sciences, economics, development, food security and livelihoods, nutrition, agriculture/livestock production, or related fields.
2. Extensive and proven experience in the implementation of Cash Transfer Programs and Income Generating Activities.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the implementation of Food Security and Livelihoods Projects in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands.
4. Excellent planning, coordination, facilitation, and reporting skills, with the ability to organize and manage a substantial workload. Experience in working with and coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including the government, will be an added advantage.
5. Strong communication, people management, and interpersonal skills, with experience in working with multicultural, multi-location, value-driven teams.
6. Experience working in marginalized communities and understanding of challenges facing women, youth, and children.
7. Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
8. Commitment to YKF’s Child Safeguarding and other global policies and values.
9. Excellent understanding of child rights programming.
