Position: Case Management Assistant (ONLY NATIONAL)


Location: Taiz


Grade: 5


Contract Length: Till June 2026


The Opportunity:


The Child Protection Case Management Assistant will be responsible for activities related to case management. She/he will be responsible for effective implementation and proper documentation of all child protection cases. The CM Assistant will ensure that project activities on case management are in line with Save the Children's key child protection principles including best interests of the child, confidentiality, do no harm and child participation, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations. She/He will provide technical oversight to stakeholder and case management team.


Key Areas of Responsibilities: 


  • Supervise and build the capacity of MoSAL social workers.
  • Lead the service mapping and update the service directory accordingly, and disseminate it on the social workers.
  • Review all assessed cases to determine whether they meet case management eligibility criteria 
  • Work with MoSAL social workers to assess if they understand problems, define goals, and develop realistic plans; initiate and implement actions to ensure children are safeguarded from harm
  • Review case plans for children and families, including referrals to service providers where needs cannot be met by SCI.
  • Monitor, supervise and review individual cases; for example, during regular case conferences, home visits or other monitoring visits (as required under the specific circumstances) with the aim to ensure timely and high-quality assistance.
  • In accordance with set case closure criteria, ensure that all social workers do not handle more than 25 cases at a time, close cases of those individuals who have resolved the immediate protection concerns and, as far as possible, have developed sustainable solutions to the underlying problems 
  • Ensure high quality case management documentation (including case management plan, referral documentation, other relevant documentation), whereby making sure that confidentiality and information sharing protocols are met.
  • Ensure coding of all data, file storage, transfer of data in a safe manner and demolition of data according to SCI Data protection protocols.
  • Conduct field visits to ensure that the community is well informed on the case management service (eligibility/target, function, etc.) 
  • Ensure Protection Monitoring is being conducted at the field level and report any incidents immediately per the SoPs.
  • Any other required duties by the line manager.

Coordination


  • Coordinate with relevant local authorities, MOSAL, community leaders, and other relevant key stakeholders such as local NGOs, community-based organizations in the implementation of the Child protection project in Taiz. 
  • In collaboration with all relevant Volunteers, CPAs, SWs, and all stakeholders engage with children and adolescents to effectively monitor the implementation and impact of the CP programme on children’s issues, including issues of Main child protection Issues which includes, UASC, CWD, dropping out of school and the neglected children and those affected from the conflict, ensure the quality according to children’s needs.
  • Coordination with other SC sectors for programs integrations.
  • Coordinate with Logistics on procurement CM supplies, distribution, documentation and reporting.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability and Quality


  • With support from the MEAL team:
  • Implement M&E systems in the project site s/he is responsible for, and ensure that the agreed tools are used properly.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits according to requirements and plans then report back with the findings.
  • Conduct QLE assessments and report back.
  • Actively monitor Child protection activities at targeted location, ensuring quality of Save the Children’s programme, reporting and flagging concerns.
  • With support from the Accountability team, put in place accountability activities for the project.

General


  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Perform other functions relative to Child Protection activities and initiatives that may be assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:


Essential:


  • Previous experience in a similar field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a humanitarian work context with INGO
  • Some understanding of at least of key technical areas of CP programming and a working knowledge of the other sectors that include MEAL, FSL and WASH. 
  • Previous experience of working with a multi-cultural team and the adaptability to varied team dynamics
  • Computer literate: MS Office 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in written & spoken Arabic; able to communicate and write in English is essential.
  • Commitment to Save the Children Code of Conduct, Child Safeguarding Policy and values
  • Experience of working directly with children and/or adolescents 

Desirable:
