About MOZN:
Mozn Charitable Developmental and Social Foundation is a non-profit organization established in the year 2015 under the Yemeni Institutions and Associations Law, affiliated with the Ministry of Social affairs and Labor. It operates under permit number (63/691) within the Republic of Yemen. Since its inception, the foundation has been working to assist and develop the Yemeni society by actively contributing to the provision of essential services and humanitarian and developmental assistance through the implementation of projects and activities aimed at meeting the needs of affected communities and enhancing the diverse capacities of individuals of all genders.
Summary of the project:
The project is an emergency response for the affected IDPs and host community with shelter and NFIs interventions in Jabal Ras and Al Jarrahi districts in Al Hudaydah governorate. Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF). These areas experience extreme severity, which is made worse by ongoing conflict and recent climate events. The difficult living conditions faced by displaced families negatively impact their general well-being.
The project's main objective is to provide displaced families with timely, life-saving aid to enhance their shelter conditions. Providing emergency shelter kits and necessary non-food items (NFIs) with shelter maintenance to displaced families
Job Objective:
The Shelter Field Coordinator will have the overall responsibility for organizing field implementation including: local coordination; supporting field teams, organizing and supervising verification, planning/organizing the distribution; attending and supervising each round of verification and field reporting. The shelter coordinator is responsible for governorate level coordination, IDP hosting site management, local stakeholder, and assisting other MOZN field teams with project implementation. This is a field-based position and may require spending extended periods of time in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure smooth coordination with all relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation of all the project activities.
- Coordinating and supervising MOZN’ project-related activities, including performance indicator/target tracking, internal and external capacity building and awareness raising activities.
- Follow-up on different project’s stakeholders during the implementation process of the project.
- Provide project manger with feedback on project implementation and provide problem solving recommendations when needed
- Follow-up with stakeholders for monthly reports and develop monthly progress reports
- Contact beneficiaries directly for data verification
- Conduct regular field visits to targeted areas to evaluate their status in response to the project requirement.
- Ensure project implementation is according to the required standards/specifications and corresponding timetable it.
- Oversee shelter analyses, assessments, and studies in the areas targeted by the foundation.
- Prepare periodic reports, and evaluation around shelter project.
- Appropriate coordination of project-related activities with all stakeholders, including local authorities in Al Hudaydah Governorate and in relation to any urgent cases requiring meetings, discussions or field visits.
- Ensure smooth coordination with all relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of all project activities without restrictions.
- Monitoring and facilitating the work of any supervisory visit to work sites in the Jabal Ras and Al Jarrahi districts by donor in coordination with the concerned authorities and the Center for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Affairs in Al-Hudaydah Governorate.
- Coordination and supervision of project related activities including performance indicator/target tracking, internal and external capacity building and awareness raising activities.
- Provide the project manager with feedback on project implementation and make recommendations to solve problems when needed
- Follow up and prepare monthly progress reports
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree in management, education, social sciences or other related discipline. Advanced university degree would be an advantage;
- Relevant professional experience in this field.
- Prior experience with NGO;
- Prior experience with persons of concern (including internally displaced persons, conflict-affected host communities, extremely vulnerable individuals)
- Good skills with basic software, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to write reports
- Ability to spend extended periods of time in field conditions
- Ability to come up with innovative solutions to unexpected and challenging problems
- Excellent interpersonal and representative skills (written, oral, cross - cultural)
- Experience in communication and coordination with donors, local authorities and stockholders.
- Ability to take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work
- Ability to adapt, change priorities according to the changing situation within the organization
- Ability to conduct work in a professional and mature manner
- Ability to deal with relations with local authorities as a representative of MOZN
