ABOUT THE FOUNDATION:
Yemen Development Foundation (YDF) is a non-governmental, and non-profit foundation. It was established in 2016 by a group of development professionals with aims to empower most vulnerable, poor and disadvantaged populations. It is professionally managed NGO, active in individual and community related issues. The primary focus of YDF is on the problems of the poor; in their struggle to obtain a life of justice and dignity. Environment stabilization, humanitarian work, education, water and sanitation, food security and empowerment of the community for self-governance are the most important components of its mission. Gender justice, natural resource management, and livelihood security are YDF primary areas of concern. Maternal and child health, nutrition, child rights and youth empowerment are also within the main focus of YDF, due to the belief that women are a pillar in society, and that children and youth are the foundation for a brighter future for Yemen.
Core responsibilities:
1. Manage and record the petty cash up to date and ensure that cash is available at all times for implementation of activities or any surprise cash count.
2. Review all approved payment documents with authorized signatures for proper and adequate backup before bank or cash disbursement.
3. Prepare all payments vouchers and cheques/bank TRFs while ensuring adequacy and accuracy of supporting documentation.
4. Ensure that all cash/bank transactions have been recorded up to date.
5. Keep a bank balance-tracking sheet up to date and coordinate with Finance Office / Senior Finance Officer for bank balance in local and foreign currency.
6. Assist in bank accounts and cashboxes reconciliations.
7. Maintain proper filling system for all financial and accounting documents up-to-date.
8. Scan all vouchers, contracts and other financial documents as well as supporting documents on regular basis.
9. Assist in the implementation of finance policies, procedures and regulations of YDF.
10. Due to the nature of the program’s activities, the above-mentioned tasks are indicative only and are subject to change. Others/additional tasks may be delegated to meet programmatic objectives.
11. Respect and follow YDF policies.
12. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years previous experience in finance functions INGO/NGO.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
5. Understanding of data privacy standards; integrity; honesty.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.
8. Computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets and calculation.
