Job Title: Field Coordinator

Role Overview
The Field Coordinator will play a vital role in managing and enhancing community engagement within targeted communities and Women and Girls' Support Services (WGSS), specifically focusing on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response. This position involves collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely access to essential services and information, particularly for under-represented groups such as women, youth, and elders.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information related to WGSS services is accessible to the community.
- Inclusive Engagement: Ensure that community engagement activities actively include traditionally under-represented groups, particularly women and survivors of GBV.
- Information Campaigns: Conduct information and sensitization campaigns about GBV, update information boards, and mobilize the community for events such as distributions, registration exercises, and participatory assessments.
- Reporting: Provide weekly, monthly, situational, and annual reports to management detailing the progress of community engagement activities, including challenges faced and project achievements.
- Capacity Building: Participate in and facilitate capacity-building activities to improve understanding of GBV issues and response mechanisms.
- Empowerment Initiatives: Design and implement empowerment programs that enhance the skills and confidence of women and youth, enabling them to take active roles in their communities.
- Training Sessions: Organize and conduct training sessions for community members on topics such as GBV prevention, rights awareness, and available services, fostering a supportive environment for survivors.
- Promote Inclusivity: Implement activities that ensure participation of Persons with Special Needs (PSN) and provide psychological support.
- Community Participation Strategies: Identify strategies that encourage community participation in GBV prevention and response, and support the creation of community care and support committees.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain respectful relationships with service providers, local authorities, and community members.
- Meetings Facilitation: Attend and facilitate meetings with stakeholders, translating proceedings and providing meeting minutes as needed.
- Data Verification: Oversee the verification of beneficiary lists to ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of assistance provided.
- Coordination: Coordinate with the GBV sub-cluster Coordinator and partners to adopt harmonized assessment tools and information-sharing processes.
- Field-Level Engagement: Support field-level engagement and coordination of GBV services with various stakeholders.
- Capacity Development: Develop the capacity of community leaders and local authorities through training and mentoring.
- Communication Leadership: Lead communications with communities, facilitating two-way dialogue and information sharing.
- Feedback Mechanisms: Coordinate complaints and feedback mechanisms regarding GBV services.
- Supervision: Provide technical supervision to daily workers and volunteers.
- Needs Assessments: Plan and conduct needs assessments, baseline studies, and surveys, providing feedback on findings.
- Service Coordination: Liaise with community leaders and other agencies to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Data Collection Supervision: Prepare reports and supervise data collection within beneficiary communities to ensure accuracy and clarity of information.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: University Degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Social Studies, Gender Studies, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of experience in international and/or local NGOs, preferably in GBV programming or related fields.
- Community-Based Work: Previous work experience with community-based organizations or GBV initiatives.
- Collaboration Experience: Experience collaborating with national partners, local authorities, and UN organizations.
- Administrative Knowledge: Solid understanding of administrative procedures related to GBV programming.
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and timely reporting abilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship-building skills.
- Computer Proficiency: Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Public Sector: Knowledge of public sector and/or emergency services, especially related to GBV.
- Geographic Familiarity: Familiarity with the geographically assigned environment.
- Linkages Development: Ability to communicate effectively and develop linkages with NGOs, INGOs, government agencies, and local communities.
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Skills and Languages
- Proficiency in English and Arabic.
- Understanding of civil engineering principles, particularly in relation to GBV infrastructure and services.
- Knowledge of GBV prevention strategies and community support mechanisms.
