Position Title: Angel Investment Network Manager
Location: Yemen

Summary
The Angel Investment Network Manager will lead and manage the development of the Yemen Angel Investment Network (YAIN), driving the selection and training of angel investors, facilitating investment in startups, and fostering a robust angel investment culture in Yemen. This role involves building relationships with key stakeholders, coordinating capacity-building programs, and ensuring the success of both the champion angel investors and the broader network of investors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Champion Selection and Training:
a. Conduct research and oversee the selection process to identify champion angel investors with the desired experience, network, and commitment.
b. Design and implement a comprehensive capacity-building program for selected champions, including training on startup evaluation, investment processes, legal frameworks, and ethical standards.
c. Provide standardized agreements and guidance to champions to assist them in assessing and investing in startups.
2. Investment Facilitation:
a. Support champions in identifying promising startups, providing guidance on investment strategies and offering technical assistance for selected startup.
b. Mobilize additional funding by encouraging champions to raise funds from other investors.
3. Yemen Angel Investment Vehicle (YAIN) Establishment:
a. Oversee the establishment of the Yemen Angel Investment Vehicle, ensuring legal and operational setup processes are completed.
b. Conduct research to identify potential angel investors, focusing on recruiting both male and female investors.
c. Organize and deliver training programs for vehicle investors on selecting potential investees, startup valuation, due diligence, and legal instruments for investment.
d. Facilitate the mobilization of secured funding allocated for each startup, ensuring matched technical assistance and value-added services.
4. Yemen Angel Investment Network (YAIN) Development:
a. Establish and grow the Yemen Angel Investment Network
b. Design and deliver ongoing capacity-building and networking events aimed at promoting a culture of angel investment in Yemen and enhancing the investment capacity of YAIN members.
c. Provide continuous support to YAIN members through a vetted startup pipeline, due diligence assistance, and legal support.
5. Reporting and Evaluation:
a. Monitor and evaluate the progress of champion angel investors and YAIN members, ensuring milestones are met and reporting outcomes to stakeholders.
b. Compile and analyze data on investment activities, startup growth, and network development, providing regular reports.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
- Proven experience in investment management, startup incubation, or venture capital, with a focus on early-stage investments.
- Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected markets such as Yemen.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building, training, and mentoring, preferably with investors or entrepreneurs.
- Excellent research, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives in a complex, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks related to investment and startups is a plus.
- Commitment to ethical investing and promoting diversity and inclusion within the investment community.
