The IRC Yemen began its programs in October 2012. Since establishing its presence in the South of Yemen, in the Red Sea Coastal city of Aden, the organization has grown from just an implementing small project to handling large scale emergency and relief operations. Following the war which broke out in Yemen in March of 2015 and the humanitarian disaster, which was crafted by the same, IRC launched one an emergency response program in the southern governorates of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah and Aldalea. Currently IRC Yemen is operating in eight governorates in the south and north of Yemen and Sana’a and Hodeidah in the North through direct programming and through local partnerships, in Health, environmental health, Nutrition, Economic Recovery Development, Education, Child Protection, Gender and Women Protection and Empowerment.
Scope of work:
IRC is currently looking for a qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of Environmental Health Officer for Data Management. The main responsibility of this role is overseeing the collection, validation, and entry of Environmental Health data. maintain and enhance data management systems, analyze trends, generate reports, and collaborate with various stakeholders. Additionally, they play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and secure data for informed decision-making and effective program implementation.
Job summary:
Environmental Health Officer- Data Management plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, integrity, security, and availability of departmental data and information.
Work Environment
The Environmental Health Officer - Data Management will report to the Environmental Health Manager in Hodeida. His role will involve working closely with EH manager and officers in the field to collect, compile, analyze and share data. The EH-DM will also collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to support program indicator tracking and improve data quality. The Environmental Health Officer - Data Management will be responsible for maintaining the WASH partner database and providing technical assistance to partner WASH teams to ensure data quality. The EH-DM will report to the Environmental Health Manager.

Main responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management:
- Develop and implement data collection tools and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent data capture.
- Oversee data entry and validation processes to maintain data quality and integrity.
- Manage the EH data officer/assistant responsible for collecting and entering weekly and monthly reports of EH activities by working closely with EH officers and assistants in the field.
- Ensure the quality of all environmental health data reports coming from all field offices by reviewing databases and reports, checking original data, and continuously building the capacity of the data management officers.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and relationships related to environmental health issues.
- Graph and supervise water-borne disease trends and report these to the management team in the Environmental Health program.
- Update the master database for all activities, updating it weekly with incoming data.
- Build maps to show EH different interventions with exact locations and any related information.
- Provide orientation and training to EH staff on data entry, expectations, data quality, and new data collection tools as needed.
Data Cleaning and Processing:
- Ensure that data/reports are well-maintained and available for use uploaded on one drive and BOX.
- Identify and remediate data quality issues.
- Recommend modifications and enhancements to meet departmental standards.
- Provide timely feedback to the staff through their supervisors related to data quality issues such as accuracy and completeness so it will be corrected on time.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on environmental health data and indicators.
- Complete and share reports to EH management and other applicable staff on time as per the agreed timetable. Reports include Weekly Update Reports, Monthly Reports, ITTs, Clusters Reports, and any other reports as required.
- Provide weekly information as requested during outbreak situations such as cholera.
- Attend IRC and external partners meetings as necessary.
- Attend IRC training/workshops when required and/or arranged by the program.
- Conduct regular visits to field sites to check data quality, verify data sources, and provide on-the-job training and on-the-spot feedback.
- Keep the database up to date and help Partner WASH staff prepare periodic high-quality reports.
- Support Partner WASH staff to adhere to the data quality standards.
- Provide orientation and training to the partner WASH team on data entry, expectations, and data quality.
REQUIREMENTS: (Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities):
A. Education:
- University graduate such as data science, information management, or equivalent degree is an advantage,
- Manage data program experience for a minimum 3 years and partnership experience is preferable.
B. Experience:
- Proven experience managing the WASH data program.
- Good proposal and report writing skills.
- Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) experience preferred, shown abilities in leading data WASH programs is a must.
- Proficiency in Arabic & V Good in English.
C. Skills and Abilities:
