The ICRC is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of:
Supply-Chain Planner
Contract type : One year contract - renewable
Duty Station: ADEN
Purpose
The Supply-Chain Planner is responsible for making sure that all forecasts are received, registered and matched with firm demand. S/he ensures that goods are sourced according to an agreed plan.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities:
- Monitor material resource planning (MRP) suggestions, analyses supply and demand, and makes appropriate recommendations to improve forecasting accuracy for medical items in collaboration with country medical planner
- Decide on order fulfilment based on the delegation’s stocking strategy per product category, and in accordance with the priorities identified together with the requesting department and logistics team, to ensure the most effective and efficient inventory management.
- Sets and updates the MRP system parameters and item settings in the JD Edwards software.
- Responsible for ADE medical consolidated demand figure; proposes and monitors buffer stock based on own analysis. Maintains the contingency stock items list in line with delegation policy.
- Is the logistics focal point in ADE demand planning process for all MED items
- Analyses items’ historical behavior and forecast accuracy, and provide to requesting department with the results, main trends, and deviations.
- Support focal points within the requesting department medical items in making and correcting their monthly forecasts.
Additional responsibilities for the Supply Chain Planner:
- Consolidates, analyses, and discusses all collaborative demand planning in ADE with Mobile Medical supply chain planner.
- He/She is part of the global planning network, helping to build and improve demand planning practice across the organization.
- Ensure that risks are mitigated by performing the controls assigned to his/her role as described in the Logistics Risk and Control Matrix
- Improve Short Exp items Management by ensuring the distribution of items before their expiry and/or Monthly report to Customers through emails and Bi-Lateral Meeting.
- Reduce the deadstock in the warehouse to the minimum possible.
- Ensure stock availability of >90% for Medical and 95% for Non-Medical at any time.
- Regularly update the Supply team, Warehouse team and the requesters about the incoming international Pipeline and keep close collaboration and strong communication with warehouses to ensure processes are aligned and priorities are set correctly on inbound deliveries.
- Coordinate all demand planning Issue with the requesting department team and propose live update on the effective solution
- During the absence of the country medical planner, S/he will cover the absence of country medical supply planner
Scope & Impact
- Geographical remit: country-level.
Relationships
- Internally, interacts with the Regional Supply-Chain Planner, the delegation’s Buyers and warehousing and transport staff, the global planning network and the Supply-Chain Administrators.
- No external relationships.
Certifications/Education Required
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- Computer proficiency and ability to run specialized software. Experience with enterprise resource planning systems an asset.
- Good command of English .
Professional Experience Required
- 6 years overall professional experience.
- Experience in logistics.
