Job Overview:
Star Plus Pharma is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and services are acquired in a timely, cost-effective, and quality-assured manner. The role requires expertise in SAP to streamline procurement activities and maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Planning:
- - Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
- - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and specifications.
- - Analyze market trends to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
Vendor Management:
- - Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet company standards for quality, cost, and reliability.
- - Conduct vendor performance reviews and take corrective actions if needed.
- - Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Purchase Order Management:
- - Create, track, and manage purchase orders within the SAP system, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- - Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- - Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Cost Control and Reporting:
- - Monitor and control procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- - Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis, savings, and supplier performance.
- - Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with company policies and procedures.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- - Ensure procurement activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- - Mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions by developing contingency plans and alternative supplier options.
- - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in SAP for audit purposes.
Continuous Improvement:
- - Identify and implement process improvements within the procurement function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- - Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- - Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- - Proven experience using SAP or other ERP system for procurement activities.
- - Experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
Skills:
- - Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain principles.
- - Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- - Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
