ASF is a registered national NGO with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No 271. Our mission is to Contribute to youth and community development by implementing quality programs and building effective partnerships in accordance with best institutional practices. ASF started its work in Yemen since 2013 and has been implementing projects in 4 sectors namely skills-building, peace-building with good governance, FSL, and Education with Child Protection.
Purpose of the Job
The main purpose of the Project Officer position role is to provide direct support to the Project Manager in the successful implementation, monitoring, and coordination of the project activities related to gender justice, which mainly contains meetings, workshops, advocacy campaigns, problem-solving and policy reviews ensuring that the project activities and objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively
Duties and Responsibilities
ASF is looking for an efficient and qualified person to fill the position to carry out the following Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Follow up the daily work of the project activities according to the project implementation plan.
- Provide leadership in planning, project start-up, project implementation, and development of quality control systems.
- Develop project implementation plans, recruitment plans, procurement plans, reporting mechanisms, and training plans using the project-monitoring tool.
- Exercise overall responsibility for the financial management of the project, track the budget and ensure that all activities and expenditures are conducted within budget allocations, and manage project activities according to the scope of the grant and budget.
- Works with the MEAL Officer to implement monitoring and evaluation plans for the project, and facilitate monitoring and review of the project with staff to assess outcomes and capture lessons learned.
- Work with logistics to procure project supplies within project budgets.
- Regularly update the project manager on the progression of projects as per protocol.
- Liaise closely with local authorities, and donors to ensure project compliance with donor policies and regulations and complementary with other agencies' efforts.
- Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as and when needed lines of communication with stakeholders in the office and in the field
- Maintains frequent communication with the project manager to ensure that program activities and objectives are communicated.
- Works with operation staff to ensure the coordination of project supplies is within budgeted targets.
- Attends coordination meetings, which are relevant to activities.
Required Profile and Experience
1. Education:
- University degree in Business Administration or related field
.2. Professional Experience:
- At least two years of experience as a project officer
- Experience working with organizations and Foundations
- Computer skills and Microsoft 365 applications
- Excellent English language
