NPA is seeking a Security and Liaison Assistant for its program in Yemen.
Job purpose.
The position requires Security and Liaison management experience, A suitable background may come from a results-focused International Non-Governmental Organisation. Good communication and diplomacy skills are required.
The position is based in Aden with travels within the country.
Responsibilities.
The Security and Liaison Assistant is part of the team and supports the Security Officer.
The position reports to the Security and Safety Officer
Responsibilities:
Security Management:
- Support the implementation of physical security measures, including access control, CCTV surveillance, and alarm systems.
- Ensures all security-related information is timely shared with all staff
- Undertake other security-related functions or responsibilities assigned to him/her by the Security Officer.
Liaison and Coordination:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, MoPIC, MoSAL, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate security-related activities with external partners, such as UN agencies, NGOs, and government entities.
- Serve as a focal point for information sharing and coordination with relevant security networks and forums.
- Collaborate with program teams to ensure security considerations are combined into program planning and implementation.
Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Full understanding of emergency response plans and protocols and participating in the implementation of all related procedures of emergencies and actions to be taken.
- Participating in conducting regular drills and training sessions to enhance staff preparedness for emergency situations.
- Support incident management and crisis response, including liaising with relevant authorities.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date security records, incident reports, and security-related documentation.
- Contribute to regular security reports, including tracking of security incidents and trends.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of security-related correspondence, permits, and licenses.
Required qualification
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Two years of work experience in security management-related work.
- Good command of English and Arabic - both speaking and writing;
- Good computer skills.
Experience
- Work experience working with INGOs or the UN.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to sort issues related to the procedures of transactions/ applications with authorities.
- Enough understanding of the security context in Yemen.
- Personal competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish effective relationships and networks with diverse stakeholders.
