Job Description

Position: Livelihood and food security coordinator        
Management: Programs Management
Location: Multiple Governorates    
Reports to: Project Manager    
Deadline: 11/07/2024

Key Responsibilitie

  • Preparing the implementation plans for awareness programs of the targeted households and to participate in the illiteracy and to provide the aid conditional on teaching, and the necessary monitoring and follow -up on all stages of these interventions, the most important of which is to identify the targeted households - providing awareness requirements - implementing awareness programs - follow-up of the targeted households with awareness - identifying the households of the targeted conditional assistance - disbursement of conditional assistance, using community committees in the targeted communities.
  • Preparing the implementation plans for the formation of community committees in the targeted community as well as the trainings to these committees on educating the targeted households of the importance of education for children and literacy and the effects and results related to non-education of children - changing negative habits and reactions of these househols - changing negative situations towards education and others, in addition to monitoring and continuous follow-up to implement these trainings.
  • Directing community committees formed in the targeted communities to prepare timed work plans for their tasks, monitor and follow-up to all the work carried out by these committees in the targeted communities.
  • Educating members of the community committees about the tasks required of them and how to perform their roles.
  • Preparing the implementation plans for the formation of crisis and emergency management teams from workers in the planning departments of local departments, educational areas and schools, as well as training for these teams on planning for educational services and preparing emergency plans and alternative plans for educational services. Before, during and after the crisis and others.
  • Directing the emergency teams formed by preparing a timed action plan for their tasks, monitor and follow -up to all the work carried out by these teams in the targeted communities
  • Preparing the criteria and terms necessary for the selection of consultants specialized in providing technical support and advice throughout the period of work with continuous evaluation and development regarding the component of livelihoods.
  • Monitoring and follow-up on the implementation of the procedures for contracting with consultants specialized in providing technical support and advice throughout the period of work with continuous evaluation and development regarding the component of livelihoods.
  • Continuous monitoring of performance and achievement for all consultants working in providing technical support and advice throughout the period of work with continuous evaluation and development regarding the component of livelihoods.
  • Preparing plans, supervision and follow -up regarding the activities enhanced by economic empowerment in community, including preparing a guide or map of livelihoods in the targeted communities. Preparing studies on the market and targeted households - and organizing bazaars to market products - establishing an educational conference on economic empowerment and enhancing livelihoods in targeted communities.
  • Determining the criteria for choosing targeted households by creating livelihood in the targeted communities, preparing plans and supervision and following up on the application of these standards and the processes of selecting the targeted households, using the parent councils and community committees.
  • Preparing implementation plans, and then monitoring and following up on the provision of advice and technical and financial support provided by the consultants in order to enable the targeted households of the opportunities of livelihoods.
  • Documentation and archiving for all documents and project documents electronically and paper (soft and hard copy).
  • Prepare the timed periodic work plans for the tasks set above, report and discuss them with the line manager.
  • Preparing the periodic completion reports of the tasks specified above, report and discussing them with the line manager.
  • Coordination with the relevant authorities related to the tasks set above under the supervision and technical support of the line manager.
  • Participate in all meetings related to the tasks above under the supervision and technical support of the line manager.
  • Implement the mandated tasks entrusted by the line manager    

Qualifications and Experience

  • A university degree no less than a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business administration, or any related field.
  • Experience in the field of livelihoods and community interventions in an organization with funded projects of no less than 5 years.
  • Knowledge in the field of working in local and international humanitarian organizations.
  • The ability to work in difficult conditions, and work under pressure.
  • Good communication and mastery of Arabic and English, conversation and writing.
  • Professionalism on all Microsoft Office programs.
