Job Description

The General Manager will be a dynamic and visionary leader responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of the charity organization. This role involves directing a variety of projects, managing relationships with international organizations and local stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of the organization’s mission. The General Manager will report directly to the President of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan in alignment with its mission and goals. Provide visionary leadership to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Oversee the execution of projects funded by international organizations and self-funded initiatives. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Use innovative approaches to come up with new proposed initiatives that the organization can execute and fund. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, international organizations, government agencies, and community partners. Represent the organization at high-level meetings and events.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including finance, HR, and administration. Ensure efficient and effective operational processes and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure the organization’s financial health and accountability.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure financial support from donors, grants, and other funding sources. Cultivate relationships with potential and existing donors.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization. Communicate the organization’s vision, mission, and impact to various audiences.
  • Implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the impact of projects and programs.   

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role preferably within a non-profit organization, preferably with experience managing international projects and partnerships.
