Family Counseling and Development Foundation is a non-governmental humanitarian Foundation which was established on January 8, 2011 in Yemen. FCDF is specialized in providing mental health and psychosocial
support services for 12 years to men, women and children who seek help, including a qualified Yemeni staff who are very specialized in MHPSS.

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Protection Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of protection activities within the project. this role involves ensuring the safety, dignity and rights of beneficiaries.  
The protection officer must work closely with other program staff, local communities, and relevant stakeholders to identify protection concerns and develop strategy o address them.  

Job Duties and Reasonability:

  • Track progress against activities and outputs as committed, and support team to adjust work plans to achieve targets most effectively.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the database and information management teams, ensuring that data is collected and stored properly, and is used effectively in reporting and as a program management, monitoring, and evaluation tool.
  • Case Management for beneficiaries whenever needed.
  • Raise awareness for vulnerable conflict effected Children, community, youth and HH’s upon protection issues through interviews and counseling and awareness sessions.
  • Establish and coordinate with needed networks.
  • Document all challenges, difficulties, and success stories along with the Reporting Officer and Media team during implementing the project.
  • Track down the lesson learned to avoid repetition in the future.
  • Supervise and assist field teams in the identification and compilation of key protection information and issues for preparing protection briefs and advocacy documents as needed.
  • Support the collection of reports from the field, collecting, drafting, editing, and submitting to the Project and Program Manager for review.
  • Support the implementation of training sessions for government counterparts.
  • Verification and investigation of emergency cases related to protection and collection of all documents related to the emergency in coordination with the project manager.
  • Providing and preparing lists of vulnerable who are in needs of immediate help.
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports for identification of key achievements, challenges, and advocacy issues.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, mid, and final reports on time and be delivered to the project manager.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor

Skills needed for the job:

  • Proficiency in leadership skills and the ability to organize, train and motivate others.
  • Good communication skills and dealing with different personalities. Empathy, understanding and dealing with cases professionally.
  • The ability to analyze and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and take appropriate decisions.
  • The ability to use a computer and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Capacity to work under pressure.

Qualifications And Recruitments:

  • At least a Bachelor degree in Business, Management or any relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as Protection Officer in INGOs and/or NGOs.
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Computer skills in word and excel, preferably full Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience in planning and coordinating programs in complex conflict settings.
  • Currently living in the targeted governorate. 

Note: Any Qualification, Experience, Training in Mental Health Care will be Added Value.
