Job purpose summary:
Responsible for making key decisions that relate to continuous improvement within all areas of technical operations, and managing the electrical & mechanical teams who are operating on the plant.
Required skills & qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – MBA/Master degree is a plus
15+ years of experience in a similar role
Six Sigma or Lean methodology knowledge preferred
Fluent in English & French
Proficiency with Microsoft office, CAD, simulation & programming
Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate and mentor staff
Duties & responsibilities:
• Define, implement, and maintain an efficient production system that includes Safety, Process Quality, Equipment management, Training, Lean methodologies, and Cost management.
• Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards
• Lead, coach, & support a team of engineers & technicians, identify performance gaps, & address training needs when necessary
• Coordinate the regular testing of machines to address faults, and provide evaluations in order to implement improvement strategies across the production lines.
• Research, establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacturing to reduce cost & increase efficiency.
• Manage and lead electrical and mechanical engineering including spare-parts and maintenance teams
• Take complete ownership of product launch activities and coordinate closely with the team to monitor performance and availability.
• Monitor the production process on a daily basis and ensure the team takes preventive actions to avoid any delay in production process.
• Work with department leaders to translate the top-down corporate strategy and milestones into detailed product roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables.
• Support the development and update of the Manufacturing Operations Industrial plan, including site strategy, Equipment Maintenance strategy, ISO compliance roadmap, and Strategic Plan Risk Analysis.
• Establish standard reports and KPIs to provide concise and practical communications to key stakeholders on program status, issues/risks, and accomplishments
